On Wednesday the 18th of January 2023. We chased a late train 225 from Te Kuiti to Taumarunui on the (northern) central part of the North Island Main Trunk (NIMT) where the it was looped for train 200 'The Northern Explorer' which as of recently now stops there. after seeing it arrive and depart we then head further south to Oio where 225 crossed 234 for a crew change, we then chased 234 back north from Oio to Te Awamutu.
Unfortunately due to road works here and there some of the gaps between spots are bigger than usual. Most of the road works were and are clearing away slips or fixing the road after Cyclone Hale ripped through the North Island a week and a bit ago.

NOTE: I made a mistake in the editing at 11:31 I mentioned the hill in the background as Ruapehu,it is actually Hauhungatahi.
