I just bought a pair of Kziks and love them. I have arthritis and found I was only wearing my Ugg slippers in the winter or sandals in the summer because I could slip into them. I feel more secure wearing a good pair of shoes. I like the look of the laces & won’t mind if I have to retie them once in a while. Glad to know the Sketchers are a good choice too.

The Skecher slip ins are comfortable and enable me to maintain a sense of independence. I like them better than the Kiziks which all have laces which can get untied and drag on the floor unnoticed, creating a risk of tripping and falling.
@janeyza1
@janeyza1 Год назад
I simply double tie my Kiziks so they can't come undone. Once I've adjusted the laces to a perfect fit, there's no reason to untie them. Cool thing is, you can tie/double tie your Kiziks when they're OFF you're feet. So if you have difficulty bending over...no problem!
@utuber1000
@utuber1000 Год назад
@@janeyza1 "Cool thing is, you can tie/double tie your Kiziks when they're OFF you're feet." How do you know how tight/loose to tie those laces when they are OFF your feet!? (Plus I don't like the "fake" look - it's like wearing a clip-on tie!) My hands-free, no laces Skechers just slip on and are super comfortable and IMHO look sharp! No tongue and no laces.
@janeyza1
@janeyza1 Год назад
@@utuber1000 To answer your question...I tightened the laces while on and did the pre tie loop, ...then simply slipped them off so I could face the shoe toward me and tie a nice even double bow. So they look nice all the time. They are regular shoe laces so there is nothing fake about them. Just no need to untie and tie them when taking off and putting on. Also the tongue is sewn in so it is minimized and doesn't move around like in a regular shoe.
@utuber1000
@utuber1000 Год назад
@@janeyza1 "…To answer your question...I tightened the laces while on…" That rules me out, as well as many others similarly situated. If my hands could reach my feet, without either forcing myself into an excruciatingly painful position, or the help of another person, I really wouldn't be shopping for hands-free shoes.

Lyra, a few thoughts on the lace ups. I have two pairs of Kiziks (Athens & Lima) and my thought on having lace up is the increased adjustment you have for snugness. Also, if over time (I wear my shoes to death) if the shoe stretches you can tighten the fit with laces. As far as laces coming loose, if you have kids you should know the double tie, my laces NEVER come loose. Just some thoughts.

I bought 2 different styles of Kizik. I did find that after wearing them a couple of days they were a little loose around the lace area. Because they have laces, I was able to adjust them for a perfect fit. So I'd like to know if anyone has experience with the skechers loosening after a few wears. Since there are no laces, there is no way to adjust those.🤔 My dad found the the Kiziks too tight out of the box (he has wide feet and bought the wide version) so he was happy that he could adjust the laces also. Just something to think about. I do love my Kiziks.

Just a result of the type of material. I love my Kiziks an haven't found a pair of sketchers that fit as well and are as comfortable. I would like a more durable shoe style for yard work. The mesh type material in my Kiziks get filthy and feet get soaked just walking the yard for a short while. Nothing like soggy feet/socks first thing in the morning.

Thank you for this helpful video. I don't want to wear my street shoes inside, but I feel more productive and get more done at home when I wear shoes. I was thinking about getting Kiziks b/c I've heard they're so easy to put on, but after watching your video, I think I'll save some money and go with the Sketchers. I hadn't thought about the laces part, and I'd have to put even more money toward elastic laces w/the Kiziks. They also sound so similar, that I just don't think the splurge for Kiziks would be worth it in my case. Thank you, Lyra! 😊

big difference in price. Kiziks on Amazon around $200.00 AU plus , skechers $129.00 to 149.00 AU different shoes right ? Skechers offer normal, wide and extra wide . I have a wide flat foot but the Skechers wide is toooo wide and I only will buy one brand of sports shoe because of my foot and that brand is Asics. the skechers just flop around on my feet so I wont be going down the wide path again with this brand. I have some normal 10 size coming this week with the go walk 6 technology will let you know what they are like.

Who has a more durable shoe kizik or Skechers?
@lyradominguez6672
@lyradominguez6672 Месяц назад
Great question. Overall, they both seem to be holding up well (the soles have not cracked, shoes have not come apart, no holes, etc). But my husband say that his Kiziks fit about the same after 2 years. His Skechers seem to have loosened up that it now gives him blisters, and because his Skechers do not have laces, he can’t tighten it. He wore both shoes every week, at least once a week, 10-12 hrs a day. For me, I don’t feel any discomfort from either. But I don’t wear either as often as he does.

just do a double knot. mesh uppers always stretch overtime, especially hands free ones cause you always use just the feet. laces keeps everything constantly snug. Plus the laces do look inclusive for PWDs who gave up on sneakers because of their disabilities but still want to give it a chance

That was my initial thought. However, 1 person in the comments section here pointed out that the laces help adjust the width. For her, she tightens it; her father loosens it because he has wider feet. There are Kiziks with elastic laces; so it doesn’t get undone, but you also can’t adjust.
