Well I just have three things to say; 1. There's no way, so I thought, I'm going to watch a 25 minute shack tour. And then I watched it twice and it really made my day. 2. I was hooked by the Model 19 sound, what a joy to see it operate (last saw one 45 years ago in another hams shack). 3. You sir have absolutely mastered the craft of Amateur Radio and have the finest radio room(s) I have ever seen in my many decades of operating. Best 73, DE WB6JWB

That was AWESOME! Thank you for sharing. I agree with the last comment that this looks like a museum exhibit. I really love the details of the use of vintage items in each area, the old telephone, old metal desk lamps etc. It really completes the looks and transports you back in time. I grew up next to a Ham Operator that had a huge telescoping tower and was always contesting. I knew because we could hear him on our tv sometimes, before cable came to town. I always wanted to start back then but he morse tests scared me away. I finally did get my Tech and General a couple year ago and now have a miniature shack in my basement as well as my mobile Jeep HF and VHF/UHF rigs. I need more land, money and time, and patience to get to where you are. Congratulations! Job Very Well Done Sir!

This is the second time I've watched this tour, and I just can't seem to get enough. It's marvellous! I sincerely appreciate your sharing this. When I was just a SW-listening wee lad, I remember perusing radio magazines and catalogues, and dreaming of what gear I might have in my dream shack someday. After some decades, I finally got around to collecting just a couple of rigs and some other assorted gear. Certainly just a modest little shack by your standards! Nonetheless, your tour is a wonderful reminder of just what's possible. And those old Collins rigs are still just as drool-worthy as ever. Cheers and 73!

I had the pleasure of touring Jay's little shack a couple of years ago, I was completely flabbergasted. Being an old USAF radio technician I was drooling at his collection I was very impressed. He just scratched the tip of the iceberg and didn't mention the other setups he has in that building, I was so jealous when I left there.

Jay, I really enjoyed your shack tour. It's the best I've ever seen. I'm sure that the majority of people that comment will praise your shack and some will hope Heaven has a ham shack just like yours. The biggest take-away I got from your video however was that ham radio truly does bring people together. You are a fortunate man to have met and worked with so many other fellow hams. In our social media saturated lives where human contact has been minimized ham radio is one of the last vestiges of direct people to people contact. I've been a ham for ten years now and after seeing your video I think it's time for myself and all other hams to start actively promoting ham radio and mentoring new hams. It truly is a great hobby. My best to you and yours sir.

Great collection of vintage equipment. I started in 1960 as WV6LGE in San Diego. First gear was BC-342 receiver and Globe Scout crystal-controlled transmitter. Almost continuously licensed since 1960. Other calls include WA6LGE, WB6ADA, KR6WU (Okinawa), EA7BZN (Rota, Spain) and finally WA3SCW. Incredible. Mr. Collins' own rig ... how cool is that ! So many collect old radios, but I am only impressed by those, like you, who keep them running and actually use them. The ultimate Ham Shack. And a great job in stirring our minds to past radios. I have a friend who is similar to you in his love for older radios. WA9SAW. He started in CB when just a young teenager and basically taught himself. Most of his military-style radios were from when he was in the military. He retired as Command Sargeant Major. SIR! You have my respect!!! That has to be the most BEAUTIFUL shack on the planet!!!! I love how you have them set up into individual stations, the furniture looks great, AND YOUR CABLE MANAGEMENT IS SUPERB!!!! Your antenna farm is sooo cool to look at!!! MY FAVORITE thing about your shack is that most everything is hooked up, functioning, and the fact that you use and exorcise all of it!!! That is going to end up being our last link to free speech. I hope you have a young college to pass that down to so your hard work and love for the hobby lives on! I took a tour of the old WLW am transmitter, just north of Cincinnati Ohio. That was a 500,000 watt station. It was known as the NATIONS STATION!!! Your station/stations are so much more organized and shiny like a LAB.... I tip my hat to you Sir.
