Thank you for explaining this. However, I have 2 questions. first question is, can you update the sofrware link. It does not work any more. Second uestion, when you connect to the drive, does it need to be already connected to the 48V power supply and powered by that?
12A 48V supply for two motors? They saw you coming... Your motors might peak at 10 to 15W, 500W of supply is way overkill. Supply voltage correlates with top speed of the motor, otherwise its just power output that matters.
From the manual: DIP Switch - Motor SEL It is reserved for future use. Now there is no function for these DIP switch. www.automationtechnologiesinc.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2012/06/KL-5080H.pdf As I recall, all of the settings are changed through the software.
thanks alot for the video, and i was wondering if i can control 10 closed loop stepper motor together?. Also im working on a project which i need to rotate a 10 separate mirror to track the sun. So do you think normal step motor will work fine or do i need to use closed loop to be so accurate. Thanks in advance hope to hear from you soon
Hello. Ten steppers will require ten individual drivers. I'm not sure how big your mirrors are or what your budget is. If I were building a machine for commercial purposes, I would use closed loop steppers. If it is an educational project, then go cheap and used cheap steppers.
I have one more question? I'm sorry if I took some time from you but do you have any idea from where I can learn how to connect 10 step motors together by arduino? Because the maximum I found is a driver can hold 4 step motors or 5 Thanks alot for your precious time
@@salah-eldinessam8292 Arduino is not very fast. I don't think you will be able to run 10 steppers with an arduino. Take a look at the Beaglebone from seed studio.
Ray Horner Hi. The DMM servos are great and a good value for the money. But, for the size of most of my projects, it's hard to beat these closed loop steppers. The cost is lower, they are simple to configure and they perform well. But, for ultimate performance, DMM gives you more "juice"
