Great video dude. Thank you. It does take it to the next level Eq off sounds like amateur recording eq on much more professional sound. Keep the vids coming :)
just got a pair of these ..first impressions they sound nice and smooth...maybe lack some 'weight' though? not sure what your thoughts are...great for the price though.
I have a pair of these as well as a pair of each 2A and 76-KT. All of them sound better than plugins and are much more fun to use. I think they sound great and I use them all the time. Clients are happy with the mixes so that is what matters!
I see you have two running. We're these matched units? Curious how well matched the output gain is from unit to unit and if they're fit for a balanced stereo mix like this or worst case if there's any adjustment point from inside the unit. Also are the settings easily/accurately matched on both units? Any detented knobs?
They are not matched in any way. Just bought two of them and they are all stock. Not a big different at all. Actual I have bought two more sense the video was made so I now have four of them and there's not a big different. The knobs are detented.
If this is a sales strategy, it's better marketing than the rubbish currently flooding the audio industry. Lol.. If I hear the terms "saturation" or "analog plugin" one more time, I'm going to scream. **Proceeds to log on to socials and screams** 🤣
Soon i will have two of them in my home Studio too. Together with the Pro Art Vla ll i want to add true analog warmth and sound on all individual tracks i pre edited before sending through the analog rack. Here in holland they are not in stock anywhere! So have to order soon to have them in two months. Nice video and so clear what they can do. I have low end down to 25hz and know they have the weight if needed..... Cheers.
Hi, yea sure i am also pretty sure to be happy with those great hardware pieces. The Art Pro Vla i will only use for a tiny bit of compression (1,2,3 db) just coloring and having those nice harmonics generated by the tubes. Most compression i would use plugin DynOne by Leapwing audio for excellent filters and clean MB Compression. Cant wait for the Teknik EQP’s! I love that coloration and smooth highs yet thight lows it can do! Cheers.
Anybody going, without a hard proof, against the sound of the Klark Teknik Pultec units truly lacks a sens of intellectual honesty. He's just being blurred by the original Pultec name. The real Pultec unit is a big deal without doubt. But don't let yourself getting corrupted by disliking something that does some magic 'à la' Pultec.
@@absoluteenergy1 I just find it amusing that anyone would call a piece of gear "sounding like shit" as gear themselves don't make sounds. Instruments do. When your instruments are shit, no gear in this universe can make them sound not shit
@@noir4659 Yes and no, gear imparts it’s own sound over the sound of the instruments. At the same time I’m going to paraphrase Gregory Scott from Kush and say that there isn’t really good or bad gear/microphones/etc. There is gear that works for what you are trying to accomplish and gear that doesn’t and that is going to be different for every person.
didn't sound excellent either, they did something but not phenomenal. the tubes in there are mostly for show, they're drawing very little current so the effect is minimal.
The tubes in there have one thing to do and thats to keep the signal as linelevel sence the eq is passive just like the real deal. If you dont like the sound of them then dont by them. I sure could use a couple of more of them.
The other review, was indeed super biased and made it intentionally sound so bad that it could undermine his reputation as mixer. That being said, mine sounds ok, but after 6 months I have to repair it... cheap good sounding eq, but as often happens, you get what you pay for at least on reliability
I agree with you. To bad yours got broken. What happened? The first two i got i have had for three years now and the last two ive had for more than a year and they are working just perfect still! 😊
@@Kenneth-F I still need to debug it, it turns on, but once I switch from bypassed to eq on it's dead... can't say I was surprised, mainly because of the dirt cheap price, but I guess it can happen with any product. It sounded good to me when it was working, not "good for the price", simply good. Also I'm not claiming it sounds like the real thing, since I never had a pultec, I know it's a cheap clone of a clone and it carries with it the same deviation from the original curves as the WA on the higher freq, and they are probably both based on the GPultec from gyraf audio. Don't really care much about fanboy fights, I had some fun with it, now it stopped working, I'll attempt a repair. No idea if it's a recurrent or rare thing, just sharing my experience.
@@freakkyt i agree with it simply sounds good no matter the price. Sorry to hear about your problem with the eq. You cant send it back to be repaired? I got four and they work well and i hope for a long time.
Simon Bezek it’s in my nature..I’ve been modifying every little electronic since I was like 9. I have two of these and notice more clarity and focus with a tube swap.
@@SupeBeatz That's a myth. The circuitry along the tubes, decides the sound, not the tube alone. Btw the EQP-KT sounds beautiful with it's stock tubes!!!
Blah blah blah, you UAD users are some condescending pieces of "work". Big deal you use UAD. I have an LL2A from Little Labs that will blow ANY UAD 1176 OUT OF THE WATER, ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!! It's always a UAD user that tries to throw shade at somebody who has different equipment. I got rid of my Warm Audio gear because of condescending talk from idiot UAD users. I told myself I'll NEVER let one of the UAD users EVER have a valid opinion on my setup again. So in all actuality, and idiot UAD user has turned me into a monster. Just got a WA12 mic preamp to run with my LL2A compressor limiter. I will forever be a step above UAD users as far as comparing what I own in hardware to the same things they own with UAD. If you use UAD that's good for you, but don't knock the next person, maybe he couldn't afford it. Does it make you feel good to talk down on the guy? SMH.
@@Kenneth-F I’m not joking, 😂😂 the snare sounds thin. Maybe the source samples? When I engage my pultec or any decent eq like KUsH/chandler/api the signal comes forward not sinking into the mix like this.
its a recording done with no eq or compression just a mic and then the eqp-kt. Its just a first test when i bought them. They sounded so bad that i just needed to buy two more. 😊 If you got real pultecs and api and chandler then why are looking at klark teknik?
@@Kenneth-F you came up in my feed, I wasn’t looking. In my experience, a decent plug will do you more good than this. And yes, I do own those eqs and more, I’m trying to give you some hard earned advice, as I spent a lot of time and money on sub standard EQ’s. You would be better off with a pair of 550A than these. The UAD or Aqustica plug ins would be a better investment :)
@@AirArtStudiosOfficial well thanks for your kind thoughts though i dont agree with you. I have used the real pultec when i got my sound production education.
