I've had the L30 for 3 years and use it regularly on my LE night shifts. A good light, but use the 4000 lumen turbo mode sparingly as it absolutely eats the battery. And not to be a pedant but the L30 runs on a 20700 battery not 21700. Thanks for the review, keep up the good work Sir.

Max output doesn't do much good if it can't be sustained, if the light can't sustain for long periods of time you're better off buying a 1k lumen light that has 2-4 hour run time at full output. When these lights dial back to keep the torch from melting, you've effectively spent x2 as much to get a light that only handles 1k lumen operation. >.>
Hey brother, thanks for a vid! Question for you: I’m wanting to purchase a tactical light for my AR15. I’ve been looking at the XT21X, XT11X, AcebeamL30 II and a few others. What would you suggest having spent some time with each of them? Or is there another light not mentioned that you like a lot more for a AR weapon mounted light? Thanks much! Myles-
You should check out the olight m2r warrior pro, warrior x pro, seeker 2 pro or the new odin all are excellent lights and they all have weapon mounts and pressure switches you can get for them
I'm trying to decide between the XT21X, PD36R, and T36. If I could combine attributes of each, I could make the perfect light for my needs. The PD36R almost has it, but the UI is pretty poor for both tactical and edc use. This Klarus seems to offer a lot of great features, but I've heard of reliability issues and I'm unsure of its durability. Also wish it was USB-C instead of micro USB. Not a huge issue, but my wife and I both have phones that utilize USB-C and while traveling it makes charging a breeze. I may have to buy one of each and figure it out that way! I know that they are a bit pricey, but both the Acebeam X80 and X80 GT have been used for photography purposes.! If you would prefer a light with a significantly lower output level for indoor lighting, we love the Klarus Mi1C! I hope this helps!!!
@@LeeMansfield to be completely honest my friend, I have little to no experience using lights for photography purposes. In theory, I would recommend a light with a textured reflector. The lumen output may not be as important to you as the candela or intensity of the light. Lower candela = more flood or spill. TIR lenses also help create a very large, smooth and even lit surface. You may find a worthy light for your inended purpose in the Olight product line. Olight offers several lights with some of the options I have mentioned. I'm sorry that I couldn't be more help to you!
@@lightitup1128 nitecore tm03 CRI (Color Rendering Index) have better rendering index for photography purposes. Good spill, quite bright 2800 lumens at turbo mode. Around $100
I believe that Klarus makes a brand names pressure switch for this model light, but I have yet to see an actual mount? There may very well be one out that I am not aware of. Thank you for watching and commenting!
It might be most helpful if you watch the our comparison video's of the XT11X to both the L30 and XT21X. This is only my opinion, but there is such little difference to my eye, that I still prefer the size and output of the XT11X to both of the other lights. I hope this helps!!! @@rik3gs it becomes insanely hot and very quickly, but Klarus lights sustain max outputs for very respectable times. I got over 20 mins on turbo for my old XT11GT. I haven't timed the XT21X yet. Jetbeam makes a similar light, the TH20, which has dual strobe paddles on the rear which is better than the Klarus, and it also stays extremely cool to hold, it barely gets luke warm. It's almost exactly same dimensions as the Klarus, but quite a bit heavier.
