Klaus and Hayley are meant for each other. People say he cares for her because of hope, but man could they be more wrong? From TVD to TO, he fought for her and showed her in many ways, if only she saw that. Even she cared for him a lot. She fights with him, calls him out for things he knows are right, yet when someone as much as tries to go against him, she will fight them and defend him. They make a really powerful couple if only the writers could handle that power.

It's honestly so good to see Hayley and her dynamics with the other characters looked at positively. When the show was coming out, that poor girl was VILIFIED by the fandom for not bending and scraping to K&E's every whim, and for having the gall to want to live with Jackson and the wolves. Of course, I don't agree with every choice her character made, but back then it felt like the fans condemned Hayley simply for not being as in love with the Mikaelsons as the audience was, and why should she be? She got thrust into their business by accident when all she'd ever been wanting was to find out where she came from. ANYONE would be a bit leery about living with psycho murderers and about to have a baby with one of them (no matter how hot and charismatic these psycho murderers may be, lol). Oh and not to mention the Klaroliners wanting to slit her throat at every opportunity even though she didn't even end up with Klaus

I understand the character of Klaus, and while yes he did some fucked up shit I get it. He'd experienced so much pain and hatred directed towards him, so much loss that he distanced himself. He pushed any real feelings of happiness aside and began to dominate his family. He loved them, but deep down he was so scared of them leaving him which is why they were all daggered. Then Hayley came along and Hope. He began to get a taste of love, and happiness. Someone who actually cared for him reguardless. You could tell how much this made him uncomfortable in the last clip. He wanted it so badly, but fear of losing it or it walking away still kept him at distance. It wasn't until season 4 that his walls truly began to break down
