He is actually. Or, Damon as he was before he began changing little by little. He's been hurt, betrayed, rejected... and humiliated by a father who never loved or accepted him, and made sure to let him know how worthless he was, and what a disappointment he was. So he's angry, he's hurting, he feels alone, misunderstood, and unable to trust ANYONE. And so he lashes out, pushes people away, and is consumed by a need to punish those who hurt and betrayed him. But maybe Caroline is his Elena :-)

I hate when people call Klaus a psycho. Nearly every character on this show has done bad things. They all have light and dark in them! So does Klaus. Light when he's with Caroline. She changes him. And he does too.

Damon went after Katherine first, after Stefan seemed too timid to try it, and then Stefan decided to court her too, Katherine fell in love with him, and started manipulating Stefan by compulsion, just as she was manipulating Damon. So don't go blaming everything on Damon. 2. Elena is not special to Damon???!!! She was the first to see his pain over losing Katherine, and to show compassion because of it. She saw him, she believed in him, she loved him... believe me, she's special to him!

i don't think klaus is like damon.. AT ALL! I mean he would be cute if he was being vulnerable because of elena but he's not.. its been the same pattern for a couple hundred years. Stefan finds a girl he likes and then, damon falls head over heels for her. elena is not special to damon.. just another girl he can ship away from his brother.
