Not all Germans were Nazis the Waffen SS loved to push propaganda that the US and Russia wanted to take Europe for themselves, that is was some huge conspiracy the average German Soldier on D day wasn't even german, they were conscripts and Russian defectors. The bulk of "actual Germans" were men too crippled to keep fighting on the eastern front, the regular army troops had no idea about the concentration camps and ethnic cleansing, those were run by SS troops and Hitler youth corps. Read the book D Day Through the Eyes of German Soldiers, its a good read and shows you a lot of the thoughts german soldiers had at the time.
One thing I noticed is that, early in the series, Dee Bradley Baker really leaned into the fact that Klaus is German, but he's mellowed out so much that, nowadays, he speaks using more American mannerisms. I know that this is mostly to make Klaus easier to act and write for, but it reminds me of how Arnold Schwarzinegger lived in America for so long that he had to take speech therapy classes since his accent is so integral to his identity.
Best character of them!!! 0:00-0:09 my fave part, quirksome sweet Unsurprising he would be like "REALLY!?!" due to how Stan is and how he is more specifically, with him. Fits the words perfectly that Klaus uses to communicate to Steve in that scene and though it's a cartoon unfortunately many will relate to the words given to steve by Klaus, and how Steve immediately reacts to them too. He gets the best dialogue whomever voices Klaus!!
+Annelise Farrugia Lol Klaus is my fave of this series (Bryan is my other fave in family guy) This is so sweet with his response and I can't say I blame him with how he feels and responds accordingly, either, like Klaus.. what he says was quirksome sweet "Steve mein kinder strudel, there's an Emotionally Available Father Figure floating in-front of you!" The thing Klaus said was actually true though. Considering the guys stationed to defend their homeland in Germany mostly had no idea about the camps and things that were going on as media was censored and instead of finding a way to tell them what happened America just kinda charged in there, it’s reasonable to say that Klaus was not being a racist ass when he was speaking for Germany’s defense soldiers.
