@williamkent2446 whatever Dallas gets on the defensive side of the ball is just icing on the cake. Plus, you have to realize that he doesn't have to be prime Klay on defense because he's never played with a center like Lively or Gafford. They are called erasers for a reason, and it's not because they erase shots. They erase mistakes from their teammates with their ability to step up and stay in front of people. The Mavs have 2 of the best rim-protectors in the nba and with they way they switch them out. It means they have one of the best best rim-protectors playing at all times of the game. The Spurs are not a good team at this moment but with Poppovich still there their offense will always be really good and to hold them to 109 points is pretty impressive, especially when the talk of the off-season was how the Mavs defense was going to be super garbage.
As a Warriors fan, I was actually happier with Klays play then with his attitude the last 2 years. He has always been streaky as a player, but he went from being a bright spirit, to very morose and sullen. He wasn’t happy and needed a change. He’s got plenty left in the tank.
As a Mavs fan, I'm hoping Dallas can be that for him. But it still makes me sad that Steph and Klay aren't going to both retire a warrior. I hope Steph has a monster season.
How did we all determine that klay who had like a 13 year career all over a sudden became “washed” after 1 terrible bad game. Dude played like 700 games and even in his “washed” year he put up 18 ppg on 39% from three and ended up 4 on threes made. I think the media was trying their best to paint it that way coz when any other star has a bad game ion see as many coverages
“All” speak for yourselves lmao. People really let 1 game determine their entire opinion. Dude was 39% from 3 last year including 41% during the tail end of the season post all star break and that was during the lowest/worst season of his career with so many personal issues happening
When are people going to figure out that Westbrick is not going to help any team win consistently. Every team hes been on has instantly gotten worse the moment he signs. It's no coincidence that when he left OKC that OKC got started to get better immediately and the Rockets got worse.
Yea I agree. I said in another comment that in the 2020s a team trading for Russ is basically a death knell for their ability to contend in the immediate future.
A team that’s trying to contend getting Russ is basically a death knell nowadays. Shows desperation in terms of roster construction imo. They always try and get him as a “vet energy guy off the bench” and it just never works.
Lively is more useful when only Luka is on the court. Gafford starts because he can't be as effective without Luka and Kyrie. This is why America is falling behind in basketball. Derick Jones Jr. chose to be a starter on a fringe play-in team rather than a fringe rotation player on a championship contender.
