I recently got into the recumbent trike scene and I’ve noticed many people think it’s just for old people who have bad knees, busted backs and over the hill people. Why is this so? I’m surprised. I am young, mobile and in shape. Does this belief help/hurt and do you think it pushes people away from them? The one I purchased was old and damaged. I’ve done all the work on and it, upgrading it to allow it to have suspension, disc brakes, rear 26-inch tire, on-board blue tooth speakers, custom made seats, retractable flag etc. even though I cannot afford the overly expensive versions out there, mine allows me to get out, exercise (in comfort) and enjoy the outdoors.
I completely agree with you, if I had the means to transport one of these I would get one because they would definitely be easier on the body for long distances.
off roading so low to the ground is great, you're one with the land you're riding through....which front tires are on the green scorpion? the fat ones I mean...looks like the (406mm)2.8"wide Big Roller from Specialised...right? Or is it even wider? The scorpion Enduro comes standard with the Schwalbe Jumping jacks which are just 2.25" wide
Depends more on the rack than the trike. I've hauled as much as 50lbs on my trike. The performance on trails depends on the trail. If it's rails-to-trail, a trike is great. You wouldn't get one of these down single track, though -too wide. Also, triking is not really conducive to bombing down rutted fire roads -which is why our customers don't do it!
