Great bike! I have a 22 w/thermo bob done at 323 miles and t-rex center stand when first bought new. Once i got used to raising it onto the center stand, i really like it
Congrats on the new bike. I love my Gen2 and have tons of mods on it. Oh, and it's great to see a fellow Michigander (I'm in the White Lake area). In any case, you may want to consider a Seat Concepts seat at some point (after the crash bars, bark busters etc). Not sure if the seat has been updated on the Gen3s but the stock seat on the Gen2 was brutal (for me at least). Also, I'm really glad I added the JNS Engineering foot peg lowering brackets. They really made a difference for me. Oh, and handlebar risers helped me a lot for standing. The handlebar risers and the lowered foot pegs really make standing on the bike easier or much more comfortable. I could go on and on about modding the KLR :) Maybe we will run into each other out there (I ride in the same areas, ie, Dexter) Have fun!
Appreciate that and hi neighbor. I am searching for some decent places to ride and learning one road at a time. Any suggestions and sounds good on running into each other
8:23 I recently went from “not knobby” tires to knobby tires. What a difference it has made in my confidence off pavement! Not that I’m going to suddenly be a better rider, but confidence is a huge part of getting comfortable when the pavement ends…. I look forward to seeing the great you’ll be wearing
3 good addons!...I just put a front crash bar setup on the CRF250 Rally...I did front and rear suspension as well...suspension was a huge upgrade for off highway!...great video...stay safe...ride safe!!😎🤙👍🤙👍🇨🇦
Nice to follow along as you learn about this part of the sport. I have a base 23 KLR in gray and I love it. I just traded in my '09 KLR model for the new one. Add ons you might consider are heated grips and hand guards. I live in an area where you can ride all year if you wish although the winter months are rather cool. The heated grips allow me to use lighter weight gloves making operating the controls a bit easier and not as awkward. I fitted Oxford Adventure grips and Tusk hand guards. A low profile drain plug is worth the 10 bucks. Good luck and I will be watching.
@@bodeanaventures The Tusk two mounting point hand guards seem like a rather good value compared to other brands, (Barkbuster) and they look good with the silver and red highlights. They have fortunately not been battle tested but should do their job if needed. The original wind guards are fine but offer no protection in the event of a tip over.
Just put on the first 100 miles this weekend on my Traveler (same color) 😉 Farkles I will add: Same Tusk engine cases and foot pegs Tusk luggage upgraded suspension louder horn Corbin seat (maybe) Leo Vince slip-on exhaust de-snorkel ECU flash (when available) 60/40 tires (not sure which) bar risers Thermabob driving lights windshield riser real hand/lever guards Eagle Mike Doohicky before warranty runs out.
I just started adv riding the past month and one thing I’d upgrade soon is your tires, I have the same D605 on my klx and they suck in the soft Michigan sand. Did 300 mile trip this weekend here in west MI and the sand made me take two dirt naps. The front tire washes out way to easily.
@@bodeanaventures Oh yeah! Iv been doing the jeep thing for a long time, running the same trail systems for years got pretty stale. Now doing it all on a bike brings back that excitement and challenge!
Im just doing pegs, windscreen riser, and bar risers to mine. Tires.....meh. Im coming from single track riding I just want to put on miles and go places for a change LOL.
Hello and good day I recently saw one of your short videos that showed that you added the JNS foot peg lowering mounts. My question is did you have any issues with the rear brake pedal alignment, rear brake light switch etc and if so what did you do to fix it? Thanks in advance and I appreciate your videos. Have a great day and ride safe.
