KLUTCH Welding Table: Good deal for the DIYer? 

The fixtures and price are decent. The table’s shortcoming is the thickness of the table top. It’s susceptible to warping under prolonged heat. And, bends and marring is an issue when clamping force exceeds 100 ft lbs. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a certified welder and to be perfectly honest this table is pretty good and I bought it for my house the top isn't perfectly flat but for most work that won't make a difference unless you're building something at Aerospace and even then it just barely doesn't pass

7:40 You would use a square to place them square. like you have at 11:42 Or a 45* to set a part at 45*. Not everything needs to be jigged at 90* Even if you need something super precise you can still achieve this with setup tools rather than the actual location of the holes to go by. I think those angle buttons are threaded for you to buy the required bolts if you needed to bolt them in place. Someone else put a small drill type vise on their table simply by bolting on a plate that had the pins on it. He just dropped it in place for light duty clamping/cutting operations.

I’ve bought a fair number of things from Northern. They’re pretty good. All of these inexpensive tables use the exact same 9 gauge top. I have two from Grizzly. $139 plus about $18 shipping. Out of stock more than in stock. Neither table top was flat on the frame, which it comes attached to, except for the legs. Now, for the lack of flatness. Remove the tops from the frames, and the tops are pretty flat. The top frame isn’t welded flat. Using a good 4 foot level to measure, I ground the frame top flat. Then replaced the top and remeasured. After the grinding, the top was flat to well under 1/16” edge to edge and corner to corner, which is about as good as you can expect other than for a very expensive, thick, ground steel top. You know people, if we’re fabricating, welding, etc. we should be able to fix these problems. One of the problems with the tube adapters is that they’re not really intended for these thin tops. They’re intended for the standard 5/8” thick Stronghand tops. I can’t explain all of this in a post here. Unfortunately. I bought the rebel emp 215 too. I still have it, though I’m going to put it out for sale. Nothing wrong with it. It’s a great welder! But I needed TIG aluminum capabilities, so I bought the rebel emp 205 ac/dc model. I did get the spool gun with the 215, but while it’s great for a lot of work, for thin metal and the electronic chassis and other things I do too, it wasn’t suitable. I just found you, and I hope to see a lot more videos. Good luck.

Good and useful review. Regarding clamping the round tube between standoffs, I wouldn't do that as it would bend the tube down there, and make the ends go up.

I might have been tempted to buy this table, as I am pretty cheap. Your review makes it clear to stay away, so thanks for that.

I have had this table for a couple of years now. IMO... It is an excellent "Light Duty" fixture table for the price.

I bought that same table and couldn’t figure out the hardware. The only thing i new how to use are the holding clamps.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i tried to figure out just like you did but didn’t get anywhere . Ived searched all over you tube and cant find a simple explanation what some of the hardware is for. And i went and bought another one.😂😂😂. Same instruction, got no where.

Have that table close to year now .mine was pretty flat no bent corners like I see lot on videos. I always go out help my carrier don’t know if it factory or shipping gets bent up. Any for $ you can’t beat it. I guess we could get them 20,30,40, grand tables but then I have wrap tarp around it and live there well kids gonna be cramped. U did good you’re gonna like it beats the ground or burning plywood.

To make it totally portable I wonder if you could attach a crossmember the length of the table and put it on a portable workmate using the vise feacture. The workmate folds for easy storage so when you're not using fold the workmate out of the way and store the top flat against a wall.

I have my own channel and been debating if to buy this table. I have materials to build my own but not looking to drilling 320 holes for my DIY table which will be larger.

I'm looking at getting this table! Great review brother! On the threaded v grove picks, can they possibly be put on the shaft of the clamp? Or I'm thinking maybe it's to somehow mount on top of the tubing your working on? That's all I could come up with.

I thought the hole point of the fixture plate and clamps was that you don't have to bolt stuff to the table. is it perhaps just that they include cheap clamps and you can perhaps buy some better ones that just clamp and lever themselves into the holes? I think that the reason your V blocks have threads in them is in order to use them you stack them on the black stop blocks and then bolt them in from the bottom and the magnetic clamp looks like it has a hole in the middle that isn't threaded and it is there to prevent the head of the bolt from going through the hole?

There are better accessories out there too that I think will work better than some that came with it.

You should have watched the Klutch welding fixture table video 1st before you made a review video ... Also Stronghand Tools " Fixture Point " table has several excellent videos ... Have had my table for several years works great, excellent bargain ...
