In today's video I show I a simple escape from a tight knee on belly position for one of the channel viewers.
The question came from social media who is having trouble with one of the higher belts putting him in knee on belly. So in the video I show 1 of my favorite ways to escape the position by focusing on 1 of the weak links to the knee on belly position.
The escape isn't easy, escaping a tight position from a higher belt never will be. But the ideas in the video could give you a fighting chance.

that gi wrap technique would work with an open coat or shirt, but not a closed one. Thanks for the move

If you're doing this in regular clothes for some reason and their coat is closed, you just grab the material right below the armpit. It's going to vary based on how tight it is, but it will have the same effect.

A good counter to this, wich is actually a good concept that I learned last year and I use it as a drill for my students, is instead of focus on keeping pressure with the knee, just tuck your foot against opponents hip, and follow him trying to make contact with your foot against his hip. Allows you to relax your upper body and get more attacks. Hope I explained myself. Thx for the videos as always.

i think that would crush the balls basically putting the guys shin in your groin. I would just go ahead and push the knee and react fast for the armbar/kimura attempt, maybe try a scramble after that, who knows.
