The Edmonton Manual is the premier study aid for the OSCEs, and a perfect way to study for the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) exam, as well as Part I/II of the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC). The Edmonton Manual is a reliable resource for patient encounters in the clinic, on the wards or in the emergency room. With additional chapters on essential clinical skills (EKGs, blood work, radiology) and physical examination, the Edmonton Manual is an important bedside tool for all physicians in training.

It is DUCK WADDLING test. It checks posterior horns of meniscus. But it should be full squat

I have a left knee issue, acute too mild to severe pain? I went to Primary Health and got examined by Matt he did some checking knee bend pull test it was ok, but when compression test between the cap and the leg bone on the right side there is pain, I did a squat test against the wall I crouched too low when I rose my self I could get up past to 90° I fell instantly to the ground on my arse, all around the knee I was in pain, he said just start at 90° and keep doing that exercise, and you'll be fine (he didn't do the Clark's test) he said that there really is no issue that I just need to exercise more. So I went for a 35Km bike ride along the River Valley half way coming back home my left knee was stating to get sore, not too much that I couldn't ride. By the time I was home an hour later, my knee felt like it was in a vice, I'll be getting up from a chair and how you plant your foot to get up but pivot your body to get up and turn 180° there was lots of pain in and behind the knee felt like a clamp around the knee, below the knee cap and on the right inner side MCL between the cap and right where the bone of the leg is, and lower behind. There is more to this issue than noted. I talked with Cindy (coordinator) and told her that I need to see a sports Specialist as they would have more knowledge and understand more of what is really going on with my knee function, so she sent a message to my Family doctor to set up an appointment with said specialist, have not received a call yet, it has been 1 week since I talked with Cindy. 2. I also have an issue with my left shoulder, also examined by Matt, I don't think he did proper testing as I know I have issues carrying weight above 90° pain will start earlier. Furthermore, I had to go on RU-vid, so I can examine the issue myself, I did the open can test (Matt did not do this test), and now I see that I have a rotator cuff Issue, 2nd visit I told Matt this he said there is no issue with my rotator cuff just need to exercise with this rubber band they gave me. I am hoping someone can see this and comment where I can go to get fully examined PROPERLY!! I live in Edmonton Alberta also. You can contact me, my email is: spiderenforcer@hotmail.com

Why do you keep referring to anterior and posterior menisci?

Don’t forget the Ottawa criteria to rule out fractures before examination. Edit : and I’d do a quick neurovascular exam in the context of trauma.

No symmetry maintained bad and wrong examination as per standard medical examination may be right for family medicine that is a minor part of medicine.
