I have received a good number of questions as to which oil/grease I prefer. I also noticed that a lot of the RU-vidrs that I follow have a video on said topic. Therefore, I felt as though this was a good video to make. I do not think there will be any supersizes. However, I think you will find some information in this video. I hope you enjoy the video and I hope to see you in the next one.

Great vid man! It's very informative and answers a few questions that I've had in mind to ask you for a while now.

Silly Plamen I appreciate that, P. That's my hope. I want to inform and grow the community. I all honesty, this video made me realize that I'm not as much of a novice as I consider myself. Video is a powerful too for both parties. 👊🔪

Mate this has been very informative , I always used the issue oil and graphite power on my personal weapons and sweets on our long rifle and cooking oil (low cal [don’t want my knives developing heart disease]) on my knives. Never to late to teach an old dog new tricks. Great stuff

I've used both nano oils and love it. The oil and with the CRK grease are my top favorites by far. The CRK grease goes a long way too and keeps the dust and partials getting in between the bushings and blade contact surface whereas the oils doesn't. So technically it's a trade off and having both is a good option when you have slip joints to modern style moving mechanism knives.

On knives I use EEZOX for carbon steels, Tuf Glide Marine for stainless for rust prevention., because all I need is MTG TUF CLOTH to wipe them down after a rinse and dry and go again. Mobil 1 full synthetic thinnest weight for pivots etc. Ballistol is a CLP and WILL lift nickel finishes, or chrome plating if you slather it on, and just leave a heavy coat.Ballistol is great for leather, wood and old school stainless outdoor gear...guns etc NEVER put a nickel or chrome plated anything in a plastic bag after cleaning and applying a CLP until the solvents have all evaporated. Nano Oil is just too costly to use on a large knife collection, but I would try it on my Spyderco Millies or CS folders. I have used EEZOX since 1987 when I got my first Cold Steel SRK in Carbon V...it has never rusted...in 32 years.

Out of the ones I've tried your comments support what I've observed as well. Tuff Glide is great when initially applied but wears off quick. Fire Clean is also great at first but seems to attract a lot more junk. I originally bought Frog Lube for my guns thinking it was great until I saw how gummy it gets over time. Now I use it when storing my non-stainless knives for long periods of time since it stays where I put it. It's time I invest in the nano oil, I've seen you share your great experiences on IG for a while now.

mikeh0222 Thank you for the support. I'm going to try to increase the amount and quality of info I've been sharing on IG, but in the RU-vid format. My hope is to inform and grow our knife community. 👊

I’ve been using Hoppe’s #9 on both my knives and guns. I’ve used it on my revolvers and Glocks. Doesn’t get gummy. Recently I started using straight Mineral Oil from the drug store on my knives.

Stephen Kohnle Mineral oil is a very popular choice. I like it when I’m shipping or storing a blade.

Pellgunoil work very well ,it's not food safe and Olive oil works and it is food safe. I also like WD-40 or Olive oil on fixed bkades make of high carbon steel.

I use FrogLube exclusively for cleaning my knives. The liquid is much better for cleaning IMO. I only use the paste on tool steels to help protect them a bit. I use nano oil on the pivots even though I know FrogLube is considered a lubricant. I like nano oil better for that purpose and FL for cleaning since it's food safe and smells good. Ballistol for guns all the way. Just my 2¢.

madagi I may need to buy some liquid frog lube. My go to is Aegis and it seems like James' company may be out of business. The site is down and his IG page is no longer. Frog lube does smell good 😄

Alchemy_1 oh man that sucks. I've always wanted to try that but never had a reason to switch from FL. Yeah, give the liquid a try. I think you will like it. 👍🏻

EDC Gear Reviews It does seem cost prohibitive in the beginning, but I haven't found anything better.

check out cherry balmz, its a gun lube with a mayo consistency and cherry smell, I use it on my guns and it makes the action way smoother then anything else and it stays in place for a long time and doesn't attract much debris so i think its much better for knife pivots then any light runny oil that will easily spread, frog lube is pretty bad as a gun lube but I think the paste is excellent for suppressor parts and for treating metals to prevent rusting and binding, heat and soak into metal pores of something like liners and wipe off the parts after it cools, this way there no mess and dirt attraction of having actual lube on your metal but its still somewhat protected

You need to use only one product, Quick Release Oil! I’ve been using this for several years and there is no better product for bringing the snap back on a knife. Throw all that other stuff out and buy Quick Release! You’ll thank me later.
