didn't harden the tang. you don't want file down to a sharp edge before hardening since it can cause the edge to crack.

I’m trying to learn and practice with blacksmithing, I wanna get into leather and woodwork. I feel like it would be the right job for me. I don’t know if it would be dumb of me to go for something like that. I’m mostly worried I won’t get any recognition and just fall apart and not have a backup plan. I would just like advice from someone who does this themselves.

The kukri or khukuri is a Nepalese knife with an inwardly curved blade, similar to a machete, used as both a tool and as a weapon in Nepal.The "M" cut makes blood and sap drop off the blade rather than running onto the handle and also it delineates the end of the blade whilst sharpening. It has religious significance as well in Nepalese culture.
