After taking their stance against the 2nd Amendment I'm not willing to support Dicks. I would much prefer to shop at Cabela's since they have decent knife options, and they are willing to sell me the gun of my choice.

I'm a 2nd Amendment firearms owner. I will NEVER step foot in a Dick's Sporting Goods after the stunt they pulled on law abiding citizens of America. But i still will watch you two.

I won't shop at Dick's because of their views on guns. Thanks for showing me that I still have no reason to go into there for knives!

I avoid Dick's at all costs after they caved to gun control. The only major sporting store I use to check out new knives in Cabela's or maybe REI just to handle them before I buy online.

I avoid DSG now that I found Academy Sports. DSG is just way too overpriced on most things.

I miss the awesome Marsh in the shopping center. Plus the Macaroni Grill that has use to be there by Starbucks. No more Dick’s for me after their 2A issues. I use to look at their knives all the time when I needed a knife “fix”, but prices were too high. I did buy a Leek from them with gift cards many moons ago. Oh, I bought a Kershaw Thistle there too for $15, IIRC.

I refuse to spend money at the at chain of stores.

The mall in my town of about 26k is totally dead. It has About 4 retail stores in it and the rest are dance studios and a TKD studio and other non retail places that pay rent. Really kind of sad.

The closest mall to me is like a ghost town half the stores are empty, don't see how they keep the doors open. The closest gander mountain to me closed & reopened as another gander something, half the parking lot is campers. Y'all we're looking at the sog & 3cr13mov Kershaw's & just moved right on by the mighty buck 110 ugh!!! Lol

Malls or aka shopping centers here in Australia are suffering a downturn. The buisness i was working for closed last week so i am looking for work right now.

It's serendipitous that you posted this today. I had time to kill so i went by 2 Academys and a Dicks to peruse the offerings and it's basically the same story. Modest selection, uncompetitive pricing. Although they did offer price matching and Academy will beat advertised price by 5%. Haggling with a cashier just isn't in my Millenial blood. It's worse than using coupons.

Yep mostly everything is online now days. Guess the Malls are the thing of the past. Dammit we are all getting old lol. Honestly I still would rather go to the mall cause atleast you can actually see what you are getting and see how good the quality the item is in.

Gander Mountain didn't last long around here. Then, 2 yrs later, we suddenly have a Gander Outdoors. Half campers. 1/4 clothes and 1/4 gun stuff. But, this version has AR parts and supplies. Even some NFA items. The Dick's at the mall is usually lonely....

5.11 Store near my house is pretty cool they sell alot of gear mostly. But they are a Hogue Knives Dealer as well as a Benchmade Dealer.

Our malls here in Roanoke, 1 is basically dead and the other is full of filler stores that kinda suck. Ether too expensive or full of garbage. Or both. It’s life support.

Looks like Osprey (& others) already nailed it. I've bought just ONE thing from [sucky] Dicks in my life, a Kershaw Leek, and it's also the last thing since it was right before they pulled a "Kmart" and stopped selling certain guns for PC reasons. On the other hand, just went to Bass Pro (Broken Arrow, OK) & Wallyworld this past weekend-- BP's selection of knives was awesome, and I was surprised that their prices weren't that far off from anywhere else. Wallyworld, on the other hand, had about the same "Meh" selection as normal, except I was happy to see the Hotwire still readily available. Yeah, yeah, sucky steel. But, lose one? Don't cry. Just go get another for less than ten bucks. Have one go dull on you? Don't bother sharpening... just go get another & throw the dull one(s) in a drawer till they become "collectible." Then, sell em @ a profit to the Canadians... * smirk *

At least three of those Kershaws are exclusive to Dick's. The Brookside is nothing special, though its deep-carry clip fits a few other Kershaw models (like the Clash). Their all-G10 version of the Zing is surprisingly comfortable in hand. Unfortunately, many other commenters here are correct about Dick's making anti-gun moves over the years. =(

I picked up the #Kershaw lifter there a long while back, it's good. I have the #Gerber dime (Walmart). #Dickssportinggoods has the #SOG micron 2 key chain knives which are great. Most recent knife I EDC from Dick's is the Smith &Wesson SWMP1BSCP, which I like a lot for daily tasks.

I do find it funny to see ppl whining about Dick's gun policy, they don't seem to understand free enterprise, and it's the owner's decision to do what they want in a "free market" Americans are supposed to support. Lol. Not everyone is going to agree with your views, but it's funny to talk about "freedom" while complaining a business owner is allowed to run their business the way they want.

Did You even know that at 12 seconds into the video you caught a Naruto Runner on camera?!? I'm never desperate enough to go to Dick's or Big-5 Sporting Goods for a knife. I'd rather take my chances of finding some flint-rock and knapping my own knife!

Here in Poland Buck 110 costs 350 PLN (about 70 USD) , Kershaw Leek 320 PLN (about 65 USD) ... in Europe prices are drama :(

I bought a kershaw at a dicks mall for $10 more than I should have -- I was desperate, it was my second knife. I think malls are mostly still popular, our two in NY definitely are with all the college students near them. Whether they're social outings or not... Well... I'm 19 and I can tell you people my age are not too keen on socializing.

Dicks owns a branch called "field and stream" and I live by one in Columbus Ohio and they have a decent amount of leathermans, Kershaw's, and bucks out of a glass case and benchmade, a SOG, and a CRKT home front but I didn't see any Spyderco's in there

That's funny, our only Gander Mountain went out of business after about a year too. It was however a really nice store. Poor location maybe?

Man, the Techno 2 is my all time fav Spyderco knife, but at 280$, it seems like it's not gonna happen anytime soon, I hope to have that knife one day, it's probably my fav knife ever made.

Dicks shut down where I live, Scheels came in and that did it for Dicks and Sports Authority. Dicks was always overpriced unless something was on sale or closeout, and the place was a mess most of the time. Sports Authority was more reasonable but to be honest Walmart sold the same level of quality for most of the sports equipment. They didn't make it too hard for people to shop somewhere else. One good side effect of them going out of business is Fleet Farm right down the street double the size of their shooting and hunting area. Scheels can be overpriced too but I have noticed that the quality is better and prices for kids sports equipment is reasonable. Cabelas is a 40 minute drive if I really want to waste a afternoon and drop some money.

Malls are dying. Our local mall has 1-2 food places left, there was 10. Our sears, elder beermans, Macy’s, are gone. There are empty stores everywhere. Dicks an the brand new movie theatre are the only 2 bringing people in. Most people shop at Walmart an Target but Amazon an other online giants are killing the malls an brick an mortar stores.

i am new to knife collecting and new to your channel. i have many cheaper knives and recently bought over 100 of the cheaper kerhaws. i thought i had heard of most of them until i saw the trace and the scrip in your video. i very much appreciate budget knife reviews, there are a lot of decent gems out there.

Dude. Our mall is sad. I would say maybe 30-40% of it still has stores, the floors are lifted up, smells like old people (mothballs), and all the old people race around inside with their sweatpants and headbands on.

Hope they go out of business. Stabbed the 2A community in the back. Most people who EDC knives are 2A supporters.

The only mall near me appears to be doing ok. Lots of people, tough parking. I suspect it's doing well because it has so many destination type stores. Like the Dicks in the video though, it also has a broken escalator. There are signs at the top and bottom that say "escalator temporarily out of service" but it's been broken for at least seven years.

Sad selection. But to be expected. Some of our local malls are looking pretty sad too. If you follow Stranger Things, the next season will have a lot of shots in one of our local ones that is on its last legs. Trust me when I say they had no problems keeping people out of the range of cameras while shooting.

Malls are way overpriced here in Las Vegas.. It was the hangout in the 80's and 90's but most malls here are pretty dead

Man, your prices are so much better in the states...most of those 20 and 30 dollar knives shown are 50 and 60 at a walmart or a canadian tire here.

The Dick's near me has a decent Benchmade selection for not very decent prices, but I sometimes go check them out there before I buy them on BHQ

Slim pickings... DSG has a great price match guarantee. Find an item there at a lower price and they will match it.

I went to the one down on the South side a few weeks ago. Awful. I can't understand how they stay in business. I bought an MSR Alpine camping pan on clearance and bolted.

Malls here in north dallas are like ghost towns. Funny thing is if they have an apple store it has more customers than the whole mall combined. Willow bend mall is pet friendly and my labs found the water fountain. Really funny watching security trying to get them out.

My mall in stl has some empty stores that didn't make it, online stores are taking over.

For some reason I have an issue with knives in polyethylene bubble containers. It just seems to say "Yeah, I'm a cheap knife you can probably afford but will regret".

The Gander Mountain in my area was rebranded to Gander Outdoors and still has not opened up yet LOL. We still have a Field and Stream store though even know their prices are ridiculous too.
