There are some sales on right now with Audible so check that out. I hope you guys enjoy this vid, I know its been requested for a while - also a sprinkling of Dredd? please help out LIKE the vid, it makes a big difference in the first 12 hours to get the likes and comments goin on - CHEERS all.
Titanicus was the first Black Library book I ever read. I was interested in 40k and found it at the library knowing nothing about the author and I loved it.
Luetin, I know you have spoke about this.. so maybe you can point me to the video that has this. But if I wanted to start reading about 40k where would you recommend for me to start?
I don’t know if you’ll see this Luetin but thank you for making these videos. So much work clearly goes into making them and I wanted to say it is very much appreciated. You got me hooked on 40K lore.
Oh man i just typed in “40k Knights” and THREE HOURS AGO my favorite lore RU-vidr uploaded EXACTLY what i was looking for. Truly, the Emperor Grace shines upon me.
I love how almost every time I binge watch Luetin’s videos, the Lore Master of the Luetin Necropolis graces us with another entry. Praise be to the Emperor of Man.
I'm not a gamer or anything, but I got hooked on the 40k lore and specific stories sometime soon after the pandemic thanks to this channel. This is still my favorite (not to speak poorly of others). Fantastic video as always, good sir.
@@duncangale945 Lol .... Funny you mention 1986 are you aware that 40k has been around since pretty much that exact date, and its origins in tabletop games like 'Lazer Burn' go back as far as 1980!!! So it's had plenty of time to 'take over everything', but it never happened and never will. Think you over underestimate just how fringe 40K is, even within the overall scifi genre, and overestimate its popularity due to your own fandom. IP's like 40k are nothing like music. Music is by its very nature, mutable and reinvents itself to fit into various cultural matrix's. 40k now is still pretty much like it was back in the late 80's. Only thing that really changed was the PC games brought a new demographic into the scene.
@@Blowfeld20k I appreciate the obscurity of the series, as well as its popularity with fans who identify with and enjoy the franchise. Does that make sense?
In Inquisitor Martyr you actually get to play as a freeblade knight, it is quite awesome and sad at the same time because the execution in the gameplay is really fucking clunky and cumbersome, like in the last mission as a Knight you have a boss fight against a chaos Knight and its just miserable, you just stamd in place staring each other and unloading your weapons in to each other until either it or you die.. it is literally awesome and sad..
@@elitereptilian200 There's a mobile game called Warhammer 40k: Freeblade that's pretty fun, old graphics but I personally like the gameplay, very few ads too.
i remember reading somwhere that the throne mechanicum's ghosts in the machine screamed out in horror and revulsion when their noble pilots turned traitor, as if the act of betrayal itself was inemical to the machine spirits. it made their pilots go absolutely insane with guilt and self loathing. like imagine if you've ever disappointed your grandma and shes telling you how shes so disappointed. now imagine every single grandma and great grandma and every other ancestral grandma youve ever had all crowding around you screaming and crying about how badly you fucked up
It says something about the depth of Knight fiction that the best Knight novel is an Assassins novel. Don't get me wrong, Kingmaker is great. Absolutely great. The best Imperial Knight novel so far. I just wish we had a few more. Maybe looking into one of the 'Great' houses from the codexes rather than novel only ones.
I'll second the other people here. Picked it up as it came out and binged it. Great narration, great story, and yeah the coverage of Knights is downright impressive.
Watching you for 5 years straight now sir, and your development just has been amazing. improvement on every single video. this content carried me through alot of lifetime now. Thanks for all of that, youre a legend Luetin!
Means, you are not a member of "Luetin's sleep club", mate? You are missing out. Try it,- learn and drift off safely and protected into dreams of the Imperium. 😊
Wow... Just in time before bed, another bed time story! Btw hope we gona see more HiveCities plus Gangs, and some other unworldly inhabitants, etc. Keep up the amazing work
I think my favorite bit of Knight lore is that in the (6th?) edition codex, there was a blurb stating how Knight ion shields were one of the few things that could effectively absorb and dissipate the effect of Necron gauss weaponry.
I was always interested in the 40k universe, but never actually bothered to look into it. Then I stumbled across your videos and oh man. Watched it nonstop until I finally caught up with the last video. Amazing stuff man.
About the "Machine Spirit" its actually explained in the chaos books. It is a warp thing, each weapon is a tool for murder so it attaches fragments of "souls" of those it kills therefor gaining sort of a demon presence. By taming your spirit "demon" of the weapon it functions properly.
i've always taken it to be kind of like awakened kami in objects: the spiritual/psykic residue of powerful owners over the course of centuries or millennia eventually results in a sort of gestalt personality made up of the most powerful impulses and emotions of all it's prior wielders/pilots. not quite ghosts, not quite souls, more like collective recollection.
Finally, a new sleep aid thanks Luetin I've been suffering from chronic insomnia for the last 3 years and these videos help me sleep except the daemonculaba one, that one got on autoplay and gave me a horrible nightmare lol
My girlfriend doesn't play, but she fell in love with your videos. Now she loves having long conversations about 40k lore, fueled by your work. It's added a whole new dimension of interaction, and I thank you for your amazing work.
Although I have never played Warhammer, I have watched almost everyone of your videos. As was said so often already; you are a master storyteller! Please keep doing what your doing!
As some one who's a Knight and Tau player... I REALLY love me some big walker action, I've been waiting for years for a dedicated knight video from you mate! cheers and thank you from a fan from down under 😊
Hell yes, new Luetin to entertain me while at work, while I do paperwork to train people in self defense. Sadly I can only teach them with firearms since we do not have Imperial Knight's with which to protect them.
Well that just won’t do, where’s the 155m artillery? The shoulder mounted stinger missiles? The 12.5m heavy aa machine guns? These will do fine in the glorious imperium, to an extent. Lol, well wishes my friend.
Just wanted to say - I really love and appreciate your videos. Always really looking forward for the next one. The whole composition from the selection of music to the presentation of the narrative is really soothing in the most awesome way. Just wanted say thanks and not only leave a like here. So, uhm... Thanks!
It has been a week after a hurricane hit where I live I have no power or water, but enough time to watch hours upon hours of your stuff. So thanks for another hour of entertainment, it really helps.
Best 40k channel, no question. I actually can't believe it's been like 4 or 5 years since I found this channel. Even when you were putting up battlefield stuff this was still the best 40k lore channel.
Fantastic video. It's a good reminder that the Imperium is more than just the Space Marines and humanity's development in war branched in many terrifying ways. I'm looking forward to more Dredd content as well.
I don't play Warhammer in any aspect but I love the lore. Channels like this make consuming the lore so much more enjoyable, and I look forward to more. Well done!
Just started the video and saw the audible ad. There is an imperial Knight book that was just released called assassinorum: kingmaker. On the face of things sounds like just another assassin book but it delves deep into the noble Knight houses, and the assassins eventually become a backdrop. And it's on audible
I have always been fascinated by the Imperial Knights, ever since i learned that they are very different fron the Titans. This video has been amazing and gave me a lot of knowledge about this machines of war.
Thanks for another excellent lore video. I played Dawn of War back in the day and really enjoyed the Warhammer universe and ended up reading some of the books. But it wasn't until I started watching your videos 5 years ago that I finally took the plunge and started collecting the minis, and for that, I thank you.
Honestly, the new youtube algorithm is a huge boon to content like this. when it recommends and autoplays content I liked 2-6 months ago, if it is shorter content like 30second clips I usually remember the video and then skip off it. but when it brings back Luetin videos I am just like "oh sick, I would love to get a refresher on this so I can remember more of it and be enthralled by these masterpieces yet again" Love your work Luetin~!
Thank you Luetin for all the quality content you're providing! I never was really into 40k in the past. Yes, I played Chaos Gate (1998) when it came out and had a lot of fun with it. Also my girlfriend's brother was really into 40k but I never really paid attention to it since I preferred pen and paper to miniature games. About a year ago, youtube for some reason recommended one of your videos to me and I thought to myself "Hmm... an hour long video about the lore of some scifi game I only heard in passing? Sure, why not - I could use some new second monitor content while playing ED..". Well, I didn't get very far in until I had to stop everything I was doing and needed to restart the video since I was immediately hooked and wanted to pay full attention (English is not my native language as you surely can tell and didn't want to miss one bit). After binge-watching all of your uploads, I bought a lot of audio-books (Starting with HH) and I'm now up to my neck in 40k content (books, video games, art, ...) and I'm enjoying the hell out of it! So, thank you again for introducing me superbly in a new past-time!
@ScambotAbove I imagine the only thing you have for me is a nice "present" of Tzeentch, right? So ... no. And now, begone, scammer! (reported to Google's Ordo Hereticus as heretic spam)
@@AdoringAdmirer You mean the first one I watched? Puah... I think it was the "Battle of Macragge" one. But to be honest, it really doesn't matter that much - just pick one. They're ALL captivating to watch/listen to.
Gotta love a Leutin video. You come for the Knight lore but you stay for the musings on the zenith of human achievement in the distant past of the 40K universe
a lot of the princeps lore reminds me of mobile suit zeta gundam's newtypes and cyber-newtypes. the souls of lost friends and strong enemies existing as ghosts within the neural interfaces of the machines and reaching out as guides on the battlefield specifically
More than half the time, when I'm looking for a 40k fix, where do I go? Do I boot up a game? Do I go buy some minis? Do I tune into a different channel? Usually, I find myself back here, binging on all this excellent content. Genuinely, thank you Luetin. You rock, dude.
As always Premium Quality, i have watched almost everything several times by now and i will do so again.... although my most favorit are still the ORKS ^^ .Thanks for the hard work and effort stay safe and healthy in thos dark times :). The Emperor Protects, You especially.
I don't think it was mentioned in the video, but the "Drop Keeps" as depicted in the Knightsblade books are easily in my top five list of 'most metal things in 40k.'
Castle Greyskull slams into the middle of an ork horde assaulting a hive city. Looking like a cactus with guns blazing. Drawbridge slams down crushing 500 boys into paste. 12 knights blare their trumpets and charge out, kicking mobs out of their path. Chainswords mowing. Guts of sqiggoths bursting open and drowning grots.
Wonderful video! I'm not sure if you've read it before, but Assassinorum Kingmaker is an incredible book and is a great deep dive into Imperial Knights, worth checking out (and that also goes for anyone else looking for more info on the topic).
The Machine Spirit bit: Even today, in the real world, we humanise/personify our tools and much more so the complex ones. Computer misbehaving and then suddenly going again? Gremlins. Or "it was throwing a hissy fit"... the machine spirit was displeased. I often see the 40k "Machine Spirit" as the twisted form of that kind like Cawl and his "three ursine problem".
Teasing us with Chaos Knights and more Judge Dredd is pure torture but also gives me hope and the drive to make it through work. Thanks bruv you da man.
Not into tabletop games but he compliles the lore in such a way evan a noob like myself can understand.Honestly he is a great loremaster,I love the 40k universe and luetin is a big part of that.Respect man 🤘
If you need a good 40k audiobook on Knights, check out Assassinorum: Kingmaker, it’s mostly from the assassins pov but it’s a great insight into Knight society and how they work, and it’s also just a really good spy story
When is someone going to make a No Mans Sky type game set in the Warhammer universe? That is a billion dollar franchise just begging for a game studio.
You're talking about a connectivistic AI. Basically a human and an AI together become a new entity. This is a way for the AI to understand humanity and vice versa. Think Mass Effect's symbiotic ending or Andromeda's Ryder's life with the AI.
Getting here early and seeing there aren't many comments yet makes me realize how reading the commentary and questions is a huge amount of my enjoyment of these videos.
I've found the best time to watch lutins videos. Get up at 4 am, go for a long run, come back, take a shower, lay down with some headphones and then play a nice lutin video. They literally feel good then.
Bro literally every time I’m feeling bored or a bit down in general I go on RU-vid and this guy has a video up. Literally a sign Hahaha. Keep up the good work tho leutin.
The interesting thing is that the Imperial Knights are considered civilian exploration vehicles for colonization of planets, now imagine the vehicles made for the Daot-era war?
You do the very best job of explaining 40k info. You seriously are the best channel for 40k. Hands down I'll pick your videos over any other out there. I just wanted to say thank you.
Yessssssssss moreeeeeee moreeeee! We’ve been getting spoiled lately with your upload frequency and quality, you’ve really hit the sweet spot in my opinion.
Luetin, you're the best. So much lore and in-depth videos you grace us with. I always love every single of your long form content. I can put my headphones on and go on about my day as I nerd out on some Warhammer. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos, you're the absolute best.
I've spent the last few days looking at stuff about imperial knights and last night I wondered if you had a video, as soon as I wake up I see this. Cheers mate, brilliant video as always.
So to help LT shill a bit for one of my favorite factions. If you want a good knight book with additions from another faction we don't get to hear much about, Assassinorum: Kingmaker is a great audiobook that talks a lot about the Imperial assassins as well as Knight houses and a bit into Ad mech in the 41st Millennium. I know it wont be a book for everyone but it ended up being one of my favorites
As always I love your content. Keep it up. I'm glad to know I play the same Astartes army as the most respected 40k lore channel on RU-vid. I'm glad to finally see a knights video from you.
