@GodsPoisonSamael It's most likely like a modern pressurized pilot suit: designed to keep excess blood out of the extremities to keep the pilot from blacking out. I guess it could also work as an airbag and a flotation device as well.
@GodsPoisonSamael it's a pressure suit used to protect the body from too much G-force when one goes too fast, like the ejection seat launching in mid-air and free falling. Modern jet fighter pilots wear them too but theirs aren't skin tight.

Yes. Exactly. So Lelouch would have still confronted Suzaku while attempting to recover Nunnally at Kaminejima, and even if Suzaku was shot dead, by the time he got to the island, the Black Knights had essentially fallen apart at the seams and already lost the battle.
Yeah a good plan can beat win overall, but don't forget Schneizel was going to be aiding Cornelia. Schneizel has been shown to be good with tactics. The plan would have worked if it was not for the fact that there is an important location for the emperors plans. So while lelouch had a good plan for the battle he still had to have his forces fight long enough for other enemies of Britania to take notice. The glaston knights and guilford had managed to halt the main attack force.
not to mention that lelouch might not have even had a knightmare to even get back to the battle and with the guren missing an arm and the battle practically over the only thing he could have done was make a retreat and make a plan to get his members released.
i think the suit expanding is to act as a life raft/airbag thing at 0:22 anyway lelouch needed to lose in the first season cuz even if he confronted the emperor,lelouch didn't know he had geass and R2 would have happened anyway. and if not the black knights had already lost the battle by the time zero reached kamiblah(whatever) island. And lelouch is powerless vs. the SUZAKU SPIN =)
And if lelouch had not left the area Orange would still be there and that weapon was going to be a problem for the black knights. While he has a shot it is pretty small since not all of his plans had fully gone through. The whole mao thing hindered getting an alliance with the Chinese federation a bit and the battle was pretty important since winning meant others taking notice. Though going on the information we had back in R1 winning seemed very possible for lelouch.
@safado441 technically even if lelouch stayed the battle would have not gone well. the second prince was sending reinforcements. the black knigts have limiited forces compared to their enemy. the only way they had a shot was if they did enough damage to make britania back off. problem is that since near area 11 is a key point for the sword i doubt charles would risk someone else stubbling on it and let area 11 fall. if push came to shove the knights of the round would have arrived eventually.
@safado441 agreed that is about all he could have done since the black knights were falling apart. I would say the time table of events would have taken less time. though they would have to rebuild their forces and the knights of the round probably would have been deployed eventually.
A good plan would be to get Lelouch cornelia and use as a hostage. Guilford just surrender and thus the Black Knights take the base and arms britanianno. And just remember that Lancelot was released after Kaminejima go to zero. If Lelouch was there cordenaria a good defense against Avalon and Cecille. The main problem was Lelouch to abandon the battlefield. With him the war would still be very difficult but not impossible for the Black Knights.
...No, they...wouldn't have. Suzaku was basically off facing Zero the entire time. Guilford and Cornelia's forces drove the Black Knights back, and, well, Zero -deserted- his allies...
Orange could be problematic but with the support of the troops could be rather contained and defeated. Clear that the victory would be uncertain but the fact that Lelouch is generally lost when their emotions come in the middle, as he abandon the battle for Nunally, or not to use geass on Euphie to make her forget that he was Zero thus preventing the massacre saz .. I agree that at the end of R1 would be very difficult but he beat him to abandon the troops what was ultimately defeated .
You should remember that Cornelia was killed in the rebellion Lelouch black and use it as hostage to surrender against Guilford certainly so Lelouch would assume the government central and weaponry there. Schneizel would really be a problem but rather Lelouch could beat it without Nunally to disturb it decisions. Lelouch could very well lose admit but his biggest problem as shown in Zero requiem is when it gets carried away by emotions and when you get rid of them become better
I'm not saying that the battle would not be very difficult but Lelouch has always shown skill to defeat superior enemy numbers as in episodes 11,13 and 23, the higher power does not always win the war. Plan Lelouch make Japan a priority area to copy what other rebel areas, not to mention that he planned to make an alliance with the Chinese federation as in episode 16. Lelouch could very well lose, but actually winning is not as impossible as well.
Dude what is with the black knights boob jacket thing? I mean at :23 seconds the guys jacket inflates like a life preserver or something but......yeah. How does the protect anyone besides Kallen?
