Those cobolt cutters are fantastic. I just recently purchased 7262200, they're nearly identical but much more flush, albeit less hard and intended for softer metals. I use them for flush trimming brads.

What is the knife you use in the beginning to open the box? Looks like a great hybrid utility knife/box cutter.

The locking button isnt for when its time to storage them.... ,its to lock onto the fastener so you dont have to rely on hand strength to grip the fastener....How did you not figure this out?....long time knipex user and no idea how locking pliers work.

Good to hear you're going to do some shorts showing off that crimper. I'm curious if it has a stop for the eye so it puts it in the proper position. I'm also curious if you can crimp awg #10 one handed with those.

Knipex is the best... although in store they are difficult to find. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah... Lowes sells one pair of Knipex, the Cobra pliers. An electrical supply company on the west side of town sells about 20 different Knipex tools.

Think it would be really cool to see several piles with what you had, what you’ve gained, then a separate pile of what they have sent you, to show your newer viewers how you really have obtained the majority of your tools from them long before they ever sent you any.

Hopefully Knipex knows that you sell way more of their gear than they're sending you. I had never heard of them before your channel popped into my feed last year. I'm just a homeowner, but I've got a list of Knipex I didn't even know I needed added to my wish list for birthday and holidays now, starting with those electrical pliers.

About the crimpers: There are different types of crimping dies for different applications. The Knipex in the systainer is for insulated connectors, the manual crimper shown right after is for ferrules. Do not use them interchangeably, they are for different applications.

Can't wait till I can get my hands on some knipex or wiha tools!! Most tool brands that I use for pro work are from harbor freight. Been doing great with my icon and Doyle tools but definitely would like to have some good premium tools. I do have quite a bit Klein tools that I got issued from when I went to tradeschool so at least I got those going for me now haha

Those autos are tempting... for the crimper, would love to hear how they work for you, I don't do a lot and just use a Titan 11477 but I may be addicted to Knipex like you... LOL

I personally don't like the short 97 series crimpers (97 52 3X), they have a fairly low leverage advantage and thus require a lot of force to use. The longer version (97 52 0X and 1X) with the red handles is better, I got those with different dies (they are interchangeable which is good if you don't need all at once) for work. Then there is the 97 43 XX that has parallel jaws and works very well too, but it's more expensive.

The kit didn't come with all the extra dies for the Ratcheting Knipex Crimper? I know the dies are removable, and size specific?

I HAD to get the SmartGrip Cobras when they first came out, because I was such a big fan of the Craftsman RoboGrip when I was a kid. Sadly.... they are not heavy duty. I routinely beat the crap out of my regular Cobras. The SmartGrip is for light duty ONLY!!! If you really squeeze on them, the mechanism will lock up, and it is really hard to open back up.

I have a set of auto-closing pipe pliers from Armeg but they aren't spring loaded to open like those cobras. Seems like more thought has gone into those cobras as if you miss what you are gripping with the Armegs then they just close right up and you have to open them back up manually, so they have become a little frustrating to use. My ratchet crimpers are from Weidmuller, Knipex will have to send me theirs, I can't afford to premium brands!
