I don't know if that is something I would get a ton of use out of. They have so many other more versatile options in my opinion, still looks decent nonetheless.
..too late.. Already bought two (dif sized) Tsunoda ‘King TTC’ hand-held cutters (as seen in another RU-vid vid). Was so impressed - I purchased the entire line of Tsunoda hand tools! Though I love Knipex, Tsunoda is comparable quality ~
Previously I also was looking for such a cable cutter especially for coaxial cable but I’ve bought another model. Most coax cables have central wire made from steel but covered with copper. So I bought special cutter that can cut exactly these cables without damaging edges of my tool. Knipex is better but you can’t cut most of coaxial cables without damages of the tool.
Very interesting. It looks as if Kuh-nip- x has done it again. If I were looking for a household comparison it would be a pet nail clipper to a human toenail clipper. The pet clipper is designed a nail that is nearly round in cross section without crushing the nail. A human toenail clipper is designed to cut a human toenail without finesse.
I’d like to see how these cut through MC cable. A pair of linesman’s will cut through the wire you’ve shown with ease. The true test would be thicker gauge wire and MC cable with the aluminum jacket on it.
I wouldn’t cut Metal clad cable with them, they are for soft metals only, even the aluminum Mc cable I think would be a stretch for these, just because of how thick the aluminum is.
