Great potholder, but have a few suggestions to make it even better. These suggestions come from two crochet/knit groups that I belonged to: (1) when knitting if you do put 2 knit stitches on both sides that will cut down/eliminate the natural curling; (2) when doing edging in crochet you always go down a size in your hook to eliminate the spreading of the edging; (3) I would recommend that your block the two pieces before adding proceeding to edging and assembly of the project; (4) I would recommend that you put a sc edging around the two pieces in order to make the assembly much easier.
