I came here because I wanted to knit a silk to for my husband; and I learned a lot more than I bargained for. I love it when people are very passionate and are able to discuss the intricacies of things. Even though I am a woman and don't wear ties, I found this very interesting.
There are many comments about how the videos have gotten better. I agree. However, one has to admit that if this video is an example of his "early bad work", it's a very impressive start. Great quality despite the improvement in the future
I was rather tempted by a plum-purple kind of colour knit tie recently, but decided against it because it was made of terylene. Was a lovely colour, but the knowledge that it was a polyester fibre turned me off. ^ This is not to say I don't already own knit ties, I'm just highly a recent buying circumstance. Thanks for the video, at any rate!
Hey Sven, your channel is growing and you need to as well. Here’s a great idea for you... start a Gentlemen’s Gazette clothing line. We need quality, good looking clothes at affordable prices. There are a lot of stores out there but the looks are lacking and the prices, steep. You are the guy to get this done! Btw, are you Brazilian? 🇧🇷 ***LIKE SO SVEN CAN SEE THIS
I purchased this tobacco brown tie and love the color, unfortunately the knit pattern looks different then the pattern tie he is wearing. It looks like a much finer knit and I don’t quite like the knit pattern.
Hmmm… Quite silly question but still: is it real to shorten a knit tie a bit? I tried to play with knots, I tied the Prince Albert knot but since the tie itself isn't wide (it isn't skinny too-I suppose it's just on the _slim_ side) this looked not so satisfying. Anyway I love this tie and this was a present so don't tell me to get rid of it and buy a new one. ;)
I'm always confused about how formal silk is. I never wear a suit but I always wear a sport coat and a tie, and so far I've been very careful to choose only ties with thick or semi thick textures and materials, and if silk is to be used I only use blends. Where exactly is the line drawn for when a tie becomes too formal to wear casually?
