Do lovely Kim! Thank you for sharing. I’m so happy you found your yarn and at Wool co. Of all places in the world. Great to spend knitting time with you again. But it’s good to take breaks and enjoy family time. ❤
Love that you’re back w another video Kim - have really missed seeing you & Jonna! Thanks so much for the shout out & for the plug for Michigan cherries 🍒 So wonderful & special to have time with you! I’m working on Karen’s Tweed Tee & I’ve also cast on the Rota sleeveless top that Jonna made. I finished Joji’s Longline Cardigan that I was working on - will share a post that a friend of mine from drop in knitting at my LYS wrote about it on Insta. The wedding was beautiful but the highlight of the trip was definitely meeting you & going to PUES - missed you Jonna! ❤
What an incredible journey you have had, can't imagine anyone skipping over this amazing video. Thank you for sharing and your pictures are glorious. everyone looks so happy. And your backdrop of your own garden area is delightful, the fountain in the background... oh so Italian!
OMG, I had wondered what had happened to the retreat after a "tease" was given in an earlier video. Kim, it looks wonderful to be in Italy. Thank you for sharing. Your Joji sweater is gorgeous.
Thanks for telling us about your summer so far! I love all the details! Don’t apologize for anything. Everyone here should be excited for all the fun you have!! I’m not even a knitter…yet. ❤️😊😀
Might have to change the pods name to " knitting with Joanna and Kim the Jetsetter! ❤ 🐶 🐦 🧶 🌿 Oh my, I'm so sorry about your husband, I will pray for both of you!
Dear Kim, thank you so much for sharing all about the Myak retreat - I am joining the next retreat in May 2024 which takes place in Murano, an island very close to Venice, and with Isabell Kramer as the knitting instructor. I was already looking so much forward to going - but now after you telling about it and your pictures I can't wait to go! So thank you again!
What a lovely trip. So happy both you and the hubs got to make this trip. 🎉❤ Your back yard is beautiful. Water features could never be noise!😅 Oh you guys could never go on for too long! You are our people.
Kim, thanks for sharing your valuable time with us. It was just as lovely with you even though we miss Jonna, too! Your summers sound wonderful and the retreat looked absolutely amazing! Enjoy the rest of your summer and can’t wait for Episode 20.
Hi, Kim. Thanks so much for this wonderful update. When you were apologizing for going so long, I thought, "Don't apologize ...I am ❤️ ing every minute. So glad you and your husband were able to enjoy the retreat and then The Nest. Looking forward to your twosome videos with Jonna in the future!
It was such a joy to listen to you talk about the knitting retreat adventures, especially with the gloom of autumn outside my windows right now. Your energy is always such a wonderful pick-me-up, Kim!
Wow, what an amazing trip you were able to experience. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. I loved every minute of it and it transported me right back to Italy. Great episode
Thank you for sharing your trip and projects. A Myak retreat would be a dream come true for me! Maybe in 2025! And don’t worry about the sound issues. The episodes have been great and the background noise isn’t bad at all!
Hi Kim! Thank you for your detailed video about your traveling and knitting 🧶 , I enjoyed every minute. Have fun at your next vacation spot and stay healthy! 🌟
what a wonderful Italy experience. thank you for sharing your favorite parts, I think they would be my favorite memories. i appreciate your taking the time to put together this video. see you in August. My how fast the summer has gone.
How glorious. I would love to do that. It absolutely looks like it’s worth saving your money to do. The ambiance is incredible. mYak has it going on for sure.
Thank you for all the stories of your trip to Italy. It makes me wanting to go too. Maybe next year. Have a good time in Canada. Looking forward to more adventures. Grt Erna
So lovely to see you again, Kim!!! I was so looking forward to know more about the retreat and I was so excited when you showed us you finally met Jonna. How wonderful to have enjoyed this time with your hubby as well. Thank you for sharing so much about your trip… your smile as you talked about it and the smiles in your pictures, say it all. So very happy for you ❤
Such a wonderful way to spend time over a cup of coffee this morning. Thank you so much for sharing the details of your wonderful time in Italy together with the photos!
Lovely! Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us about the retreat in so much detail and sharing your photos. chances of me doing one are about zero so this is the next best thing. Enjoyed this video so much x
I can see why you wanted to film from your yard. It is so peaceful there! Love the sounds of the water in the background. Loved the stories of your retreat.
Wow!!! The retreat sounds amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing. Also loved the saga of finding the oatmeal yarn. Knitters are the best!! Love your podcast (I’m new).
What if … that trip was so rejuvenating for your husband that any future medical “procedures” become unnecessary? (Became? Were to become? 🤔) Well… yes, well. Good double entendres, right? 😉 It could happen. Welcome home. (Way to drive, lady. Meep, meep. Hope you got no speeding tickets.🚗 😉)
Love you two! Thanks for the inspiration. I mentioned you as one of my fav podcasters in my podcast. Episode two. We met you at Rhinebeck last fall. It was a real treat. We treasure the photo. ♥
OMG Kim! Now I'm adding Knitting Retreat to my bucket list (it's growing almost as fast as my stash). What a fabulous opportunity. I love all your photos. Any George Clooney sightings at Lake Como? Your sweater has quite the story that shows just how tight the fiber/knitting community really is. Joji has several "project stories" that just add to what makes each item unique.
😂 No George Clooney sightings, but I think I figured out which villa was his? And project stories are wonderful. Every project reminds of when/where I bought the yarn and worked on it, besides all of the other "drama" that happens during most projects. ❤️Kim
Kim what a wonderful summary of our retreat . I’m so glad you came and we got to spend some nice time together in my hometown . And I was not a little bit impressed with your driving , I thought you were awesome !!!
It was so amazing that my words can't even do it justice! I can't wait to go on another one. And it was fun showing off my driving skills in the Dolomites!!! 🤣😘❤️Kim
Aweeee sounds like such a great trip … I would love just any weekend knit retreat 😊 Kim you should not feel that you have to apologize for sitting out , the sun, the beautiful bird bath sound… we are blessed to hear and see the sun … we really just wanna hear you and Jonna anytime ❤ What province are you going to in Canada ?? I’m in Ontario !!! Loved your knits !! Thanks Kim 😊💝🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hey Kim! I miss you gals! I love love the setup! The water in the background is perfect, adds some tranquility along with the beautiful scene. Italy sounds like a dream. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Hi Kailey! We miss you too! Hopefully you can join us for our next Cable 3 Zoom. It will probably take place while we're in Vermont for the I-91 Shop Hop (between August 17-20), but we'll let you know as soon as we choose a date & time. ❤️K&J
One thought on sound: a shotgun mic *should* be really directional and just pick up what it’s pointed at. But the DSLR probably also has an onboard mic, which would be more ambient … like pick up alllll the whispers and everything. I wonder if somehow the camera’s mic got turned on? Good luck!
That’s exactly the fix I read about! The internal camera mic isn’t technically in, but it’s settings affect the shotgun mic. So the fix is to turn the camera gain down to one or two ticks above mute, then adjust the gain on the shotgun mic as needed for the location. I hope it really works!!!
This is a great episode. Glad you both have been busy and enjoying the good things. Love your hair, Kim! The cut and color is making me want something similar. Have hair appointment on Monday! The MYAK trip sounds amazing and very special. It seems like a short visit to Italy but with so many incredible experiences I think the quality of the experiences outweigh the duration. Look forward to episode 20. Hope you are swimming like a fish!
Thank you! About the hair, it's called "my hair is getting too long to wear the usual way, so I twist the bangs and pin them back to one side with a bobby pin." About the retreat, it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. About swimming like a fish, I did! ❤️Kim
That sounds like the most amazing trip. Do you think Europe handles gluten better? I would love to travel but the gluten is always a challenge for eating. But the trip.. Will definitely be on a bucket list for me. You look cute, Kim and I love your deck! - all the best, Kimberly
Hi Kimberly, I'm not really sure how Europe handles gluten. Honestly, since I was in Italy, I decided to just eat whatever they put in front of me. 😂 But I can do that because I'm not allergic to gluten. Maybe you could ask in our member's group? Many of them are from Europe. ❤️ Kim
thank you for sharing your fabulous trip to Italy! And your off-the-grid vacation sounds absolutely wonderful. I missed the Zoom last night, but one of these days I'll make one! Until then, I'll see you both next week 😃
Sounds like an amazing trip. Thank you for sharing it with us. I had to go look up the cost and that’s not too bad of a price. My hubby would never go for the vegan thing and then to miss lunch after such a long hike, ummmm no way. (Ok in reality the hike wouldn’t have happened either) 😂😂😂
awesome video! Loved it, you did a great job! Beautiful patio and your hair is super cute :) You are a fast knitter!! You pump out the sweaters! I am slow... :)
Hi Holly! Thank you! My hair style is called "my hair is getting too long to wear the usual way, so I twist the bangs and pin them back to one side with a bobby pin." It works until I can get it cut and colored again. And yes, I am a very fast knitter. Been knitting for a very long time, knit continental style which is faster for me, and I'm an empty nester who "retired" in 2019 so I don't have to fit my knitting around a full time job and children. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤️Kim
Hi Im a danish knitter spending my summer in Bibione- north east Italy. I’m in love with your white sweater with twists( the one you ran out of yarn) please tell me the pattern name and where I can bye it. I have a RU-vid channel : forever knitting by Annie. You are very welcome
Hi Annie, Thank you so much for watching. The pattern is Solare by Joji Locatelli designed for the mYak Retreat in Northern Italy and inspired by the northern Italy sun! ravel.me/solare-2
Hi. Love hearing about your adventures. I think you sound great. I haven't heard anything out of the ordinary. What size is lace weight held double? Is it dk or worsted? Thanks
You have been a very busy lady! Love hearing about your retreat. Question: I am late finding you but I love the white tee you are wearing in intro. It has a chevron look of eyelet and round? yoke. Can you please share the pattern name?
🤣 It's called "my hair is getting too long to wear the usual way, so I twist the bangs and pin them back to one side with a bobby pin." But I also like the Smurf look... 😉 ❤️Kim
Never apologize for taking family time!!!! Loved this podcast. Beautiful background with your back yard! Thanks for sharing about the retreat. It is helpful to better understand to decide if a retreat might be fun and worth it. Hmm, hadn't thought to bring hubby along.
😂 Thank you! it's called "my hair is getting too long to wear the usual way, so I twist the bangs and pin them back to one side with a bobby pin." ❤️Kim
Loved hearing about your Italy retreat and the events❤ always wonderful to see new places and making good memories is the Best!! Enjoyed your slide show very much Enjoy! Have a Great Canada trip too!!
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful trip! So enjoyable to hear everything about it. I am happy you were able to go and do the retreat and share it so generously with all of us. Loved every minute and if anything it was too short!!!
😂 Thank you! it's called "my hair is getting too long to wear the usual way, so I twist the bangs and pin them back to one side with a bobby pin." ❤️Kim
« Sotto il sole » means « under the sun » Solaire means solar (something related to the sun) Great episode! Again. 🎉❤ I watched every one since the debut.
What a treat. I am 80 yrs old and can’t participate in these adventures but I follow all the knitting on you tube and feel I know a lot of the people you talked about. I feel I got to share in your wonderful time. Your yard and deck are so to my liking. Sandy Brooke. Thank you.
Hi Sandy, You're the same age as my mom and she can't really participate in all of the adventures either. But we're so happy we can share them with you! ❤️Kim
