I'm a native Shetlander and I love knitting. Lovely podcast. I'd love a yellow episode. A name for your sweater:- Saturn Sunrise. Your knitting is amazing. All of it. Love the mitts too!!
I would call your hand spun sweater Ratatouille as each purl row kind of denotes a shelf between layers. It’s amazing! It also looks like a sunrise or sunset in certain places around the globe. Your braid of sea creatures is the best tones of color ever!
Hi Cia, Congrats on your 5 years. I am grateful. I have been a faithful viewer for years and I have learned so much from you. You have shown me and given me permission to try new things like using 2 ply handspun and 3 ply handspun in the same garment. And your new sweater is absolutely beautiful. I am a yellow lover/collector also. I vote for a yellow podcast. As I watch this episode I am knitting a yellow Nutiden vest which has a steeked neckline and sleeves. I feel so brave! Thank you for all of your episodes. Happy spring!
I have to say that the Love Note sweater is my absolute favourite of all your jumpers so far, Cia. The texture is lovely, and the colours just perfect. ☺️
Another wonderful episode! Thank you! Yes - a yellow episode would be lovely. I'm always inspired by all that you knit. Springtime is starting here as well. We've had a few very warm days. But just when we get used to it, it gets cold again. So it feels like spring is teasing us. Greetings from Virginia, USA
That was a beautiful podcast. I love your new makes very much. The lace turned out so wonderful in that jumper. It does look like flames, like the sun is shining on your sweater. 🙂 The stripy one is also lovely. The colours and pattern reminded me of a certain rock formation or even prescious stone. I think I would give it the name: Geology Jumper. 🙂 Wow, the black sweater is marvellous. I love it. Thanks for mentioning the other podcasts. I already checked them out and subscribed. 🙂 So nice to be in the greenhouse with you again Cia. Your videos always brighten my day and bring joy to me. Your sweaters area so beautiful! The Stripey sweater makes me think of Jupiter! It should be the Jupiter Sweater! Thank you for your uplifting podcasts!
I love your channel! I have missed it for few months while being busy. The yellow mittens are beautiful! Knit what brings you joy. You “need” the joy. So who cares if you “need” the mittens! 😂❤ Socks and mittens are my two favorite things to knit.
Yes please to a yellow episode! Another lovely podcast Cia. a name for your sweater - Sunny ridge for the colour and the purl rows. Or Dappled Sun because the stripes remind me of sunlight coming through trees creating light and shade. Whatever you decide to call it, it is beautiful :)
I'm so enjoying your podcasts and happy to have found you. I'm going back and watching the past videos. I love the processing and spinning of wool as well as the knitting. I've been buying fleeces from farms for many years. I love doing all the steps resulting in a finished yarn. I think I was born in the wrong century haha. Thank you !!
LOVE your Lovenote sweater; the colors are beautiful. I do appreciate you putting in links to the content you present. Yes, please do a yellow episode!
I love you yellow swearers,as yellow is my favourite colour too.the love note garment is gorgeous. I would be very interested to see all the yellow sweaters and other things you have made.
Dear Cia, thank you for sharing such a wonderful podcast episode! I love your sweaters & your pretty "ice cream socks." I hope that you are well & finding some time for relaxing & spinning or knitting. Oh...YES, PLEASE do a YELLOW EPISODE 💛!!! Hugs, Katt
Your love note looks like a beautiful sunset. I think the ice cream socks have the perfect name 💛💛💛your mittens bring me nearly as much joy as they bring you. Your Grey Gotland wool sweater is very nice as well. I imagine flattering as well. I will look this up. Your stripe hand spun could be Spring in handspun
You are a bit ahead of us ( northern New England)with spring so it was nice to see all the signs of spring where you are and in much of your craft work. I think for your stripe sweater a good name might be Tiger Lily. The stripes and color reminds me of a tiger and Lily of course for spring!
I love the sweaters you have such good ideas for making your own patterns. I think you should call your stripy sweater New Horizons with all your beautiful yellow colors...thank you and I look forward to many more podcasts.
hello Cia! congratulations for the fifth year of the podcast. I'm also turning 57 this year (in july) so I wish both of us a beautiful and a crafty year 😊. I love the yellow stripy sweater you are wearing 😍 it fits you really nice and the colours also suit you perfectly. Love the detail on the cuffs and the hem ....
Your sweaters are lovely! I have two names for the striped sweater. The first idea is 'Tree Rings' (the rings you see when you cut across the trunk of a tree) and my second idea is 'Tigers Eye' (a beautiful striped gemstone that is usually in shades of brown but I have one in shades of blue too). Your blue fibre looks gorgeous ... I hope we get to see you spin it : )
Both of your finished knit sweaters are fabulous!!! That is the most beautiful "Love Knot" colors I've seen. It has the feel of a sunset. I am so glad you decided to stay with those colors.
Your striped yellow hand spun sweater is really beautiful, looks like shifting sands when the weather changes. I love the one with the cable neckline, will be good to see how that one looks when finished. Thank you, love the way the love notes turned out. Are your patterns in English?
The sweater you have on. Not using a pattern to match for the handspun guage of the yarn is beyond my capabilities. I have never done a top-down knit. My problem is finding a pattern for my handspun, which isnt consistent. The Love Note is also very beautiful. Appreciate the links you post. I knitted from my stash, 8ply pure wool socks for hubby. They shrunk terribly. So back to using sock yarn. I don't think you can purchase 8ply sock wool. Very smart the green cabling around the neck. "Stroking" the yarn is the word you are looking for. Will be interesting to see if you actually get a good summer. It will dictate for us in the southern hemisphere what our summer will be like as was non existent here where I live in SAust.
I think your stripey sweater looks like a sunflower so Sunflower might b a nice name for it. Kraken is the name of that animal here too only in the US we pronounce it with a short, flat A sound. It is really a mythical creature that is like a giant octopus. My son's hockey team in Seattle, Washington is called The Seattle Kraken. I knitted him a hat with a Kraken on it in their team colors. He wears it to all of the games. And yes, it is petting for stroking the fabric as well as the dog. LOL! And lying is lying down as well as not telling the truth. Spelled and pronounced the same way. I love the neckline on your new sweater. Those cables look like a Latvian Braid. I do know what you are talking about with the velvet neck cord with the cameo on it. It looks so retro 1960's that I would love to make a sweater with that cable neckline. You are so creative!!!
Your hand spun sweater is beautiful (but I am no good with names either). The colours in the Love Note turned out really well. And yes of course a yellow episode would be marvellous!
