What was SUPPOSED to be our RU-vid Live but turned into an IGTV Live instead!
We dive into our old Nutiden stash and put together some more colour combos based on audience inspiration in a game we now call "Yarn Oracle".
Grab a cuppa, something to knit & turn up/max out the brightness on screen for ideal color accuracy (basically impossible for Nutiden - but we try!)

Im so happy to have found fellow Nutiden devotee's!!! I loved your other episode too, when Carmen was in England. I've been knitting with Nutiden for about 6 months I guess and Im obsessed. It's like knitting with fairy wings and it fills me with wonder. Thank you so much for showing us your stash Im so jelly!!! I love your energy you guys are so much fun! Jackie, Im desparately in love with your Puppelin? Magnolia bloom jumper from that previous episode...Its the stuff of dreams. I just finished making a basic raglan using Vag for the body and Skal for the neck, waistband and cuffs....mwah!! Im looking forward to working my way through all your episodes :)

What fun! Thanks for saving this for watching later. Amazes me how familiar you are with this beautiful yarn and I am just being introduced to it. Don’t worry about leaving the screen to grab more colours- we are all probably knitting away and waiting with bated breath. I am inspired by @stephalouford to use the Alvi motif in my next Banff hat.

I'm obsessed with the colour of Carmen's sweater. I'm keeping it my fingers crossed the Honer&Eir makes a similar colour in the coming months. That won't stop me from getting stocked up in other colours though

Love the color combinations! I missed the live events but am inspired. I’m new to Nutiden and just received my first order - so exciting - but now I’m frozen 😂 not sure what to do with these gorgeous plates. I’m on the edge of the pond trying to figure out the best place to jump in… I’m a planner looking forward to letting go and just going for it… maybe I’ll just watch a few more examples first 😉

Oh Julie!!! Yaaaaay!!!!! Totally understand the paralysis of questioning where to start! It can feel so precious that it requires a perfect project! But it really doesn't and you can always unravel if it turns out it's not the right path! I would say a cowl would be an amazing place to start if you're looking for colourwork. Or a hat? Haha although I jumped straight to a sweater personally and that went great! It was the Rain Calling Pullover by Teti Lutsak and it was a great knit!

I'm also new to Nutiden (just placed my second-ever order yesterday, hooray), but because i live in Iceland, i have a pretty hefty plötulopi stash -- and am interested to perhaps try a pairing of one of each, maybe for a small project to start? they are slightly different textures, and i have no nutiden grays yet but lots of gradations of plötulopi... interesting to think about! thanks for your chatty conversation.

Hi Ladies!! Loving your podcasts and sharing your joy of Nutiden. Problem: I have quite a little stash but fail to be able to knit with it. It breaks so easily. Do I just need practice? Also, can you share how you store your Nutiden? Is it open and arranged so you can always see it and find inspiration? Still watching this one, so apologies if you have already talked about this. Hi Stephanie!! First, thank you so much for your kind words about the pod! We're so glad you're enjoying it! Second, ugh, yes, getting started with Nutiden can be a bit of a challenge but yes, the more you work with it, the easier it gets. It will be like your hands figure out how much tension you can put on it and then knitting is pretty much a breeze! But to make things easier, I would say hold the wool double with itself or with a strand of mohair to make it stronger. And it's helpful to use a cast on that involves less pulling (cable cast on, knitted cast on, or use a provisional cast on). Also, it can be nice to start with a pattern that is specifically written for Nutiden. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask any more questions!

Hi Loree! You can get it from www.honerocheir.nu! It's only released during certain times though so best way is to follow them on instagram or sign up for their newsletter. I think there will be a public update really soon actually!
