So interesting about the person who was stressed out by their project. I love knitting, I knit every day - it never stresses me out, but I do get frustrated by it frequently! Like when I can't get the fit I had hoped for, or it doesn't match how I imagined it would look... that can be frustrating. You invest so much time in each project! I also realized I hate knitting gifts for people. I started a sweater for my husband literally 6 months ago and cannot bring myself to do the sleeves but will happily knit a sweater for myself in like, 3 weeks lol. Selfish knitter here. I found your channel last week, I love it!

I asked my partner if he thinks knitting relaxes me and he said for the most part, but there’s usually point when I’m almost done with a project and I doubt everything and mope around but then I just keep knitting and then it turns out great 😂 Funny having someone witness my process

99% of the time I find knitting really relaxing and enjoyable. The 1% of the time when I am stressed is usually when I have a hard deadline and I didn't take it seriously until I realized I would have to do a ton a day to meet it. It is usually a baby blanket for a shower or a present for kids that know they are coming their way. Holiday or birthday presents for adults I don't care too much because they understand it takes a lot of time and I take a picture and put in a box and say soon to come. 😂

Knitting, for the most part, is a stress reliever for me. However, there are moments when it can become immensely stressful. This is typically when I’m working on gifts or when I just have too many projects going. I’m a little envious of all of the people who can have more than three projects going without losing their mind.

I only started knitting three months ago so I don’t think I hit that point where you’re so frustrated, but I’ve definitely been in sewing classes where teachers encouraged people to take breaks when feeling stuck haha

I've been crocheting for a couple years and I get what you mean with grasping new things easily. I just very recently started knitting and yes, at the beginning it can be quite stressing haha especially socks for the first time as a first project😅

i like the color choice here ! I am still working on my oona socks, i usually don't like the slip knit heel process, but the texture as you mentioned, working up has been more enjoyable. I just got into knitting, and socks have been my gateway. I do it just to see if I can, I used to think knitting was difficult, crochet is more my thing, but it's been so fun to see the yarn work up in a way that's unknown to me.

Omg the story about the judy’s magic cast on at the yarn store reminds me of when I used to work at a cafe, I had a customer who couldn’t open his soda bottle and it had like a beer bottle cap, and since I learned how to open a beer with my teeth (I don’t do it anymore), I offered to open his soda but it didn’t work so I just gave it back to him with like teeth marks all over it 😂😭 anyway, love your videos!

I think I'm similar to you where my mistakes in knitting don't really bother me. I very rarely frog or rip back. From what I've seen some people as re more perfectionists, and I think that can cause more stress. IDK just my two cents !

I love love love that neon green. I might do this as my first sock from the book. It’s a good pattern.

I always forget about my knits once i’ve blocked and finished it. For me I really like the stimulation of knitting a project but don’t really wear my knits so if it’s out of sight it’s out of mind.

I would immediately stop a project if it started stressing me out. I haven’t been knitting that long and I like learning new techniques, but if I’m dreading it, time to move on. Knitting should be fun 🤷‍♀️

Now, just before christmas I’m getting a bit stressed, but it’s my own fault haha. I LOVE knitting, but this sweater I’m knitting for my gf is not a pleasant pattern. I’ve also had a few testknits that I’ve hated the process due to a lot of mistakes in the pattern, but I ended up loving all the finished objects. And DAMN if this christmas gift sweater doesn’t fit!! 😂💔
