Hello from rural Minnesota. I’m retired I raised my family on a 4 acre hobby farm near a college town in southern Minnesota. My husband and I go to warm weather in the winter and return to minnesota in spring. I knit everyday every season. I do a little sewing. Your dress is lovely! As is your beautiful colorwork sweater. I totally love that you fixed your sweater! And you owned it! Bravo! I am not perfect but I’m clever! I have knit with Yarn from Green Mountain spinnery.Their mountain mohair is one of my favorite yarns. When you were showing the ball, I thought wow that looks like mountain mohair and it is spun in the same place. I’m knitting Lunae shawl from Moonstruck knits in Brooklyn tweed loft yarn from stash. I just started Felix cardigan because I wanted a fast knit with linen quill yarn from stash. I am thinking Hats and felted slippers for next winter. I have 3 grandchildren 13, 17, and 21. Along with several that I claim. 3 adult sons and a daughter. Summer is the season to make small items like mittens socks hats and slippers to gift next winter. I go watch AA baseball 3-4 nights a week and knit . I’m that woman. Next week my knitting group meets at a house on the north shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais MN. I packed yarn for a hat, slippers, shawl and maybe a sweater to cast on. We are only there for a week.🤣😂😍🧶🤦🏻you never know what mood you are in for knitting! I’m hoping to wear my Felix. It is cool and rainy spring and a whole different climate in the north. T find petite knit patterns true to size for children but find gauge is different that mine and probably down a size needle to get gauge. Love her children patterns making the bear overalls now too
Thank you for writing such a lovely, long comment! My father-in-law is from Minnesota but I have never visited. I like your idea of knitting small items in the summer - very smart.
I am amazed that your first color work sweater, you designed and it looks amazing! I am in North/west of Boston, another Masshole! Looking forward to your next episode.
Best wishes on your new podcast! You are beautiful and very talented, your voice is very sweet and pleasant to listen to, your preferences of knitting projects very challenging and courageous ! 😁👌🏼
Hi Sarah! I am Toñi a Peruvian lining in Holden MA. So great to meet you via podcast 😊 you are very talented. I love Kutovakika she does a beautiful job in her patterns. Also Pettite knit has nice patterns they fit really nice. See you soon
So nice to find you in my YT recommendations, I like the format of your podcast , the pace is comfortable, no overload of distracting background music. You have such a natural presentation and lovely things to share. Your Norwegian koft looks great I liked the piano theme. Do you play the piano? Subbed to your channel!
Love your first episode! I’ve always wanted to knit a kofte and your is a reminder that I really need to just start it! Looking forward to seeing your second kofte!!
Hi Sara, what a lovely podcast to listen to and watch! Your kind voice and your choice of yarn and patterns, made me subscribe, only half-way through watching. I totally understand you don't like boring stockinette stitches, I don't either, I prefer stranded knitting. Love from The Netherlands, Anja (eenleukleven)
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪. I'm also in love with Sidsel Hoivik patterns, I have five on the needles atm. I really enjoyed your podcast and looking forward to more.
Hi! I just found your channel and I enjoyed this episode so much. I love your colourwork cardi. I am a colourwork addict. It is just so much fun. I can't wait to see your next video. Best wishes from Margaret (My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast).
Thank you so much! I’m also addicted to colorwork - it’s a handy excuse to buy more colors! I have a few more episodes on my channel if you’re interested!
Nice podcast. Keep it up! I live in Idaho. I liked your parting message that you hope we are knitting on a project we love--which I always say is made up of three parts: a pattern we are excited about, yarn that looks and feels lovely and needles that interact well with the yarn! If any one of those 3 is missing, it is not a fun project!
Love your podcast, I think your kofta is amazing, if I heard right and it was only your second garment you are also fearless. I am from New Zealand and have been knitting for many years since 6 years old. Currently working on a test knit that will be out (I think) in June called Ginger Bliss by Truly Myrtle. Just finished Dolly cardigan by Truly Myrtle.
Hi Sarah! Great job on your self-designed kofte. It is beyond beautiful. Great save too, using the inserted panel. May I ask, what is the circumference of the sleeves? They are perfect. I love wide sleeves. 🙂
It was very enjoyable to watch the whole video. You are very talented and I love your kofte.. I too love the pink and green combo. I live in southern Tasmania Australia. I'm currently knitting purpurea light by tetis knit garden in biches et buches pale pink shade. . But its taking forever to knit. I think I've been knitting on it foe about 3 months now. I love that you have highlighted some Nordic designers.. im off to look at their website.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! Wow, Tasmania! It’s crazy that we live on different sides of the world, yet through knitting we are connected! I’ve always wanted to try biches et buches - how do you like it? I have Tetis knit “bifurca vest” on my to-do/wishlist. How do you find her patterns?
@KnittingJungle biches et buches is not super soft like merino. Im using the le Petit lambswool. It's a little softer than jamesons although may soften upon blocking. I didn't block my swatch, I was too eager to get going. Tetis patterns are so well written she gives you stitch number at the end of each row and links to special techniques.. her patterns are very detailed
Thank you for your comments and review of the yarn and Tetis knits! I ended up making her bifurca vest in the Biches et buches petite lambs wool and I really loved her pattern style and the yarn!
@KnittingJungle you must be psychic. I've only just caught up on all your episodes. Your bifurca was beautiful. I thought it looked great with the dress you modelled it with. You are such a fast knitter. Although I have knit 2 gifts knits in the last few months I've had to put my purpurea on hold Im now doing a test knit as I've always wanted to do one. But will never do another they are too time consuming I want to work on my own projects !! Im intrigued by your knitting machine. I have often thought abiut purchasing one however am worried about the time I will spend learning how to use it. All your projects are lovely and I wish I was as fast as you.
Very much enjoyed your podcast. Amazing kofte. To put in pockets you could use the afterthought heel method. For the next podcast maybe try to improve the focus on your camera. At least for me it was quite fuzzy a lot of the time. It could be the mirror behind that is confusing your camera lens?
Thanks for your comment! Great idea about the afterthought heel method - I think I will do that! Yes, I believe I fixed my blurry camera issues for my second episode which is now up.
Hello just find your podcasts and just love it , I do love fair isle sweater I also made one from Sidsel book ‘ROSA AT THE BALL” and I just love it and I made The Yell by Mary Wallin , thank so muscu for sharing ,, I am from the Eastern Town Ship in Quebec 🙋♀️
I am living in California, close to the middle of the state. You definitely are very talented to be able to design and knit that beautiful kofka. I am working on a Patty Lyon design that's an all-over lace design top. I am using Drops Belle which is a cotton/ linen blend. I have made several tops out of it and like them. One suggestion is to use a different background when podcasting. The mirror behind you is very distracting. I have subscribed and look forward to your next podcast.
Good Day! You do beautiful work, very inspiring! I am interested in your alpaca yarn. I am a relatively new knitter and have been gifted some Peruvian baby alpaca. I have been told alpaca will stretch out of shape and not go back so I have been afraid to use it. Have you had this problem?
Thank you for watching! I doubt I will be able to release a pattern for this as I didn't write anything down. I could share the two main colorwork charts I made, however, if you're interested!
