Finally!! I loved your gay slutty summer top!!! 🌷 I'm proud of you for sharing what you stand for, we need more of that in this world. Your charity really touched me as I am a queer poc and I appreciate your sensitivity to that 🌷 My husband is basically a "Troy boy" I think it's time to make him one!

I'm not sure I'll record in time to get it, but I'll try to put in a pic in the next episode.

Loved hearing about your Pride themed plans. On the HP topic, I was glad to hear someone expressing their opinion against continued support of the franchise. I know some people will say they can separate the writer from their work, but while JKR continues to do harm to trans people, I just can't.

Thanks! I thought for sure I'd be cancelled, but I'm not big enough to ruffle any feathers I think.

Hello, Jimmy. I enjoy your podcasting and look forward to seeing them as they come. In regard to making yourself a jock strap with enough room, I was thinking that a bralette might be helpful to give you the idea of how many stitches and the increases needed would help. I am thinking of the Audrey top by Novita Design Studio. You might want to look at that along with other bralettes. I enjoyed the rant about JKRowlings. No need to apologize .

Thanks for the bralette tip. I hadn't thought of that before. I'll check it out. I know Novita has some good free patterns. As for Miss JK... Something needed to be said.

So glad that I found your channel here on RU-vid! I completely agree with you regarding HP and Rowling. As a non-binary individual myself, it really bothers me that actively funding the removal of basic human rights and anti-discrimination laws against transgender individuals isn’t a dealbreaker for people. Love Aiden and their partners! They make such great yarn, and I think a jockstrap would be iconic in that colour lol. A MAL would be fun. Now to think of colours… 🤔

You’d be surprised how few short rows are needed for a good bulge. As long as the width is accurate (which is easy to measure across the bulgeiest part of your bulge), then you really only need to do a single “heel turn” amount of short rows (a third on each side) to get an accommodating fit. Of course I make no assumptions about your anatomical requirements but I was surprised to find that a single two-thirds set was enough to get a proper cup as long as the width is correct and you work the perineum increases/decreases right below the short rows. Makes sense when you consider that a heel turns a full 90 degrees on your foot. So basically the “formula” is: measure the widest width of your bulge (as in, the full wrap-around contour horizontally), measure how far down from your “waist” that widest part is (this is where the short rows are placed), then measure from there to your preferred perineum crossroad which is where all your increases/decreases start/end (depending on whether top down or bottom up, no puns intended). Hope that makes sense.

Um.. copying and pasting this somewhere for reference. I haven't started yet and this is a great jumping off point. I was gonna try it from scratch, but it's so much easier when someone gives great advice.

@@jimmydoesknitting I should've mentioned that a full "heel turn" (working short rows towards the center third then back out again to the sides) will make a more dangly let-the-boys-swing kind of pouch which depending on what you're going for might not be necessary. I find that if you do a half heel turn (working towards the center third but then instead of short-rowing your way back out to the sides you just start working normal rows again) creates a more accurately classic jock contour (lift, smooth, firm) that looks and feels great.

@@orlandoangel good to know. honestly, I've never knit a sock before so I am not up on all the heel mods, but I figured I'd try out some things. It won't be a lot of ripping out if I need to.

Thank you SO much for talking about the knitting community's HP problem. I had to unfollow some other podcasters because I just can't have people reminding me their nostalgia is more important than respecting trans people and standing up for our rights by not giving her ideas airtime. I'm just never going to be able to buy yarn or patterns named after HP stuff, even by indie makers -- it just keeps Rowling relevant even if it isn't going to her directly.
