In the race to win the division, the Oilers played Pickard in games down the stretch that looked (on paper) like relatively easy wins....and lost some of them, and the division. This is now a best of three, and home ice for 2 of them is valuable. OTOH, the work that Pickard got late in the year may have paid back a big dividend last night.

Justice was delivered finally by the hockey gods. Canucks have been horrible most if these playoffs getting absolutely dominated from an advanced stats perspective. You can’t keep losing that stat war and expect to win games.

The Oilers are overrated, they have 2 AHL goalies in nets. If they get by Vancouver they have zero chance of beating Dallas. You think Ottinger gives up goals like Skinner or Picker?
