@MLPARDR I plugged my bass directly to the line in of my computer and used GarageBand to record the audio. Then I exported the sound file and put it with the video in iMovie. The key to this sound is really just the tone knob and get a set of Rotosound Swingbass strings.

i'm using a pick with the tone turned about halfway on the bass and i'm plugged directly into my computer. i don't use an amp in my youtube videos because i don't have a proper microphone :P

ah finally someone who has decent settings so the pick usage doesnt sound fucking horrible.

@screamingdelalord when i use a pick i like to use the dunlop blue tortex sharkfin picks. (1.0mm) but i'm mostly fingerstyle now

Thought it was a Gibson at first. Sweet cover, very well done. Do you find the headstock dive on this model bass to be excessive at all? Played on one once and it plays real nice, but it was a bit heavy and the neck seemed to want to go where it wanted to go (know what I mean?). Great vid, thanks for putting it up.

Gud job. I dig the firebird bass....Guns are so badass bass tracks cuz first, Duff is a monster player and two, most all Guns tracks were recorded with guitars down at least a half step.... Heavy....Weighty....Badass!!And THANK YOU for having the volume up enough on your amp so that we can tell its you we are hearing and not just the actual track...lol.... Word to other play-along musicians; Make sure we can tell you are an actual musician by playing loud enough to be differentiated from the recorded track!!!!!......lol

I've played guitar for the last year and been in a band for the last year which has meant I've had to play bass (because the other two guitarists are shit hot) but I cant get use to play with my fingers, plectrum everytime for me, but thats just my preference

Not sure. I think it's just how I learned to play the song. I learned to play Kickstart my Heart over a year ago when I was just starting bass and didn't like using picks. But now i almost never use my fingers and always a pick. I think a pick just sounds better with the GNR stuff.

@MrDaniel9652 If you like rock music it is nice. Its also a bass that doesn't lose its warm sound when you play it with pick. One of its downsides is the weight of the body.. some people say it can nosedive (no experience with it) Plus, I dont think you should try playing funky stuff on it. I would say, test it out :)
