There are upgrade springs available, some examples are AK Blaster Mods 18kg spring (this can reach 250fps) or a hardware store K25 spring which can hit 220fps, providing you have a good air seal for both of these.
No, the catch is good on the Ak spring and a cut to length K25 spring. The Ak spring is a K25 with squared off ends. The plunger with handle these springs as long as you disassemble it correctly, by removing the silicon pad off the top of the plunger head and drill a hole through the center of it so you can access the hidden screw. If you do it like this you should have no problems at all.
i've also noticed lower FPS from the bamboozles. the heads are nicer than workers, but the worker gen 3 foam is perfect for high pressure barrels like brass. maybe the bamboos were tested in and work the best in anodized aluminum with a little bit of tolerance slop.
No one ever mentioned the priming handle goes back, like a cycloneshock does or summat! That aside, the whole project is phenomenal, considering it's a stock spring and all!
I would personally avoid the AK 18kg spring for the Knockout because it does not fit the plunger system as they send you a Kronos spring, and if you do manage to shoehorn it in there, it will be ridiculous to prime and very hard to get it to catch. My suggestion would be to get a K25 spring and cut it half a coil shorter than the original spring, on a 8-9" barrel, this is achieving 200+ fps, but is a very solid prime. Also note that drilling the top of the plunger system to get to the screw that holds the plunger together so you can fit the spring in, will take away any of the last remaining plunger seal...
Jayson Smith I just received the kit and installed it. I give it a 6/10 in terms of fitment and quality. Not worth the price . Am going to re do it with my own parts. Thanks for the heads up on the spring ! Yes they sent me a Kronos spring ...
I just bought two of these today at Best buy and plan to leave one stock that my seven-year-old will have and also use as a reference but with mine I think I'm going to converted to shoot .177 BBs . I am also going to be taking a ton of stuff off of it and molding things using a plastic welder, CA glue, Kitty hair and stippling. I am going to be removing the trigger lock, the entire area that holds the two extra rival balls, removing the entire Picatinny rail on top but mounting an extra set of Ameriglow night sites that I have . I may even try and reduce the grip, but won't know until I open it all up this weekend. Then will paint it all Black Duracoat with very small red highlights. I am very OCD and detail oriented plus. Something custom, cheap, fun and satisfying for a 45 year old to do on cold winter days inside.
If I did that here I'd get arrested lol. Should be able to send them pretty damn fast, google says 0.35g and what I'm shooting here is 1.0g with the stock spring. Given similar conditions you could expect in excess of 500fps with those...
I like this IDEA... I have a tone of bb's still, I never concidered modding a Nerf blaster to do bb's... Though like Bradley, I am in the same situation, because Airsoft is illegal where I am... Should I make one for shits and giggles????
Sounds like you two need to move to a free state that allows their citizens to do these things. Here in Idaho I could legally turn any nerf gun into a semi auto .50 BMG with a 100 round magazine and it would be legal.
goddamn the knockout is just such a beast, i look forward to brassing mine here in the near future, hopefully i can find a cool faux suppressor for the front amazing video as always Bradley
@@BradleyPhillipsYT yeah i was looking into that, definitely a lot more options if i take it upon myself to make my own suppressor, i think i might scrounge up a hybrid between a fake silencer and a scar barrel, hopefully it works out :)
I enjoy your content, why you don't have more subs is a shame. I just made one of these, but I don't have any proper half darts, I'm using cut down rebelle darts but they do not work good.what are some good substitutes, I have some workers on the way
How long is brass however? I used the AKBlasterMod mods and I'm getting round 160fps, but I feel like a longer 17/32 brass would do the trick. Or would making the 9/16 longer give the same effect? I already had to use a longer piece for the faux scar I own
9" 17/32 works really well on the stock spring. I am getting some more in so I will do some with longer barrels to see how much more it has in it with a larger spring.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I had a look at -kit, -mod and *strike to no avail. Am I just missunderstanding it and the adapters for the standard nerf tactical rail fit just as well? If you could point me to a website, that would be great.
I am going to attempt to use the ball storage as a spot to make a mag fed version, I think I know how to get it so it will work, but have to wait on more stock to arrive. So I hope this works, wish me luck.
Hi there Mr Normal, the brass length used in this build was 9" for the 17/32, 8.5" for 9/16 & the 19/32, with the 5/8 being just a fraction longer then what the rifling needed for a more secure fit when some very gentle compression rings to make it stead fast.
Ehhhh, maybe Rival does have some inherent limitations, but you have to admit that stock Elite sucks compared to stock Rival. It’s far more practical and satisfying to take most Rival blasters out of the box and have a CQB or mid-range office frenzy.
If we're going to include stock blasters though you have to include the Dart Zone Pro. But we all mod our blasters so comparing stock isn't really important in my opinion.
Bradley Phillips : Do you bring your DZP to your office? There’s regular stock and pro stock. My main point is that you could have said “Rival doesn’t meet our standards for this situation” or something similar. This would have helped maintain your professionalism.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT love the build and work you put into your video and looked through most of the comments and didn’t see it here, but was wondering if you knew what size pipe, and what size the threaded fitting is for the silencer add on. If you are unsure I can always just do some measuring, but figured I’d ask first. Thanks again!
Why do you hate Rival so much? I know it doesn't do good outside but for CQB I think it dominates. For me, rule of thumb is, if you are playing CQB use Rival if you are playing outside use half darts. What is your opinion?
@@BradleyPhillipsYT ok. I was just wondering what your opinion was. I agree that half darts are much more accurate than rival. And I also really like nerf Snipers that shoot half darts. Your channel is amazing BTW! You deserve way more subs! Keep up the good work!
Are you tired of inaccurate guns like the deagle? Are you shit with rifles? Do you always know what time it is? Then fear not! The pocket AWP is for you!
Please Read Comments, I have made ammendments... So I finally got the AK Blaster Mods Springs. The correct ones, and I can ssay that they are a K25 like spring with squared of ends. The diameter is the same, but the frequency of the coils is slightly different to the K25 lengths I have here.. They are the same length as the original spring, with the frequency of the coils being the same as well, but the diameter of the wire is .2mm thicker. It is seriously ridiculous to prime, and you really gotta yank the blaster hard in two directions to get it to catch, and I am no slouch, I like heavy springs, so be warned. LOL... My suggestion would be to get a K25 spring and cut it half a coil shorter than the original spring, on a 8-9" barrel, this is achieving 200+ fps with a Worker Scar, this is also a very solid prime, and will catch easier.. Also note that drilling the top of the plunger system to get to the screw that holds the plunger together so you can fit the spring in, will take away any of the last remaining plunger seal...
Only if your putting on a cut spring, as the priming bar is so thick... I dont know how much damage you might get twisting the spring on and off... Turns Out AK Blaster Mods have been sending out the wrong spring to their customers if ordered seperately from their kits. The are sending me the correct springs today, so hopefully I will be able to try this again with the correct Worker Spring. Will keep everyone posted!
Jayson Smith which spring did you order from them? They apparently sent me an 18kg spring meant for the knockout but I’m not sure if it’s the correct one
@@dextertan5178 Hi Dexter! I ordered specifically the Knockout 18kg Spring off AK Blaster, but they sent me Kronos Springs which are to small in their diameter to fit inside the plunger head like the original spring. If it dont fit, they have made a boo boo in what they sent, so chase them up and they will send the correct one if it is wrong. It would be helpful if it wasnt just Chinese and a kg rating on the packet too... LOL!
Jayson Smith hi! Oh, I see. Ok I ordered the 18kg Knockout and an 18kg Kronos from them. Not installed anything yet but on comparison one spring is longer and wider and the other. I assume the larger spring is the Knockout!
