The best part is, those tickets do not expire ever. I had a girlfriend who stashed away her unused tickets for use on her next visit.

The dark ride used to be called the Golden Nugget ride that was located in Wildwood New Jersey on the old pier and now they bought it and restored it to the now black diamond and the haunted Mansion is one of the best dark rides still known to man... But deffinetly a great family park especially having two of the best wooden coasters still around ... Carpetbagger you are truly the man of many journeys and glad to see you were in my home town...

It Texas in the whole DFW and surrounding areas. Go pros and any cams of any kind on a harness or not are strictly forbidden. I am going to sneak mine on in the winter time on rides at 6 flags. I can sneak it under a winter coat and just have it between my boobs :D A third boob. :P

Yay! You made it! I knew you'd love it. That's great about their on ride camera policy... The Knoebel family really cares about all aspects of their park and their customers, and it makes for a special experience you won't have at a corporate park. There's a lot of love in everything they do.

I agree with you! One time my sister and I were eating near that stone puppet theater while a show was going on. The young man doing the show really put his heart into it. He obviously loved entertaining the kids with the show, and it made it enjoyable even for us as adults. I've had good experiences with the staff and attendants there.

You missed Twister (The other wooden coaster) Flying Turns (The only wooden bobsled coaster) Bumper Cars (The best in the world thanks to the metal cars) Carousel (One of the last few Carousels you can still catch brass rings) Flyers (Snapping!)

The flying turns was probably closed because of the rain. You can imagine how a slick bobsled track would change the dynamics of the ride lol.

Extra fun places (from a Native Pennsylvanian) that you should visit: Hershey Park, Dorney Park, The National Christmas Museum (Amish Country), The Town of Jim Thorpe (Very beautiful there!), The Philadelphia Zoo, The Franklin Institute, Eastern State Prison (In Philadelphia), That Theme park in Altoona, Gettysburg!!!!, 2 Gravity Hills at New Paris and Bedford, The Mutter Museum, Roadside America (Also in Amish Country) and Crystal Cave. To name a few. Hope this gives you some ideas! ;) Enjoy!

OMG you finally went!! I’ve been going to this place every year for 36 yrs, my first year was still in the womb. 😆 I moved to Virginia and I really miss going multiple times a year, but I still make sure to get there. Edit: I just got done watching and I was smiling the whole time, especially while you were going through the Haunted House. My older cousin used to tell me they would grab kids on the ride and put them in those doors under the demon thing. I was terrified of that ride bc of her. 😂 I’m so glad you liked it, and that’s so cool you were able to film with the GoPro . I had no idea Knoebels did that.

Thank you for this video! I grew up going to Knoebels Grove every Summer. We now live in KY and miss it so much. This is so dear to my heart. Also as soon as you got on the Impulse , I turned to my husband and said "oh no he's going to meet Jesus!!!" That rollercoaster is scary fun lol. Again thank you.

Love your channel. You missed one of the most impressive parts about Knoebles... The FOOD is unique and not typically found in an amusement park. They are just as known for their food! Go back and try these favorites... Examples include: All you can eat Spaghetti nights, Bacon on stick, Pickels on a Stick, Pork Chop on a Stick, Corn on the cob, Fish fry's on Fridays, Fried pirogies, Hot dogs with Red Relish, and the famous Blue Birch Beer made locally. As for the rides, the carousel is one of the last ones around with a brass ring machine!

It is one of the best kept secrets in PA. It is a great family park and we used to go every year. Less now that the kids are grown, but we go on our own sometimes.

This is the best amusement park in the world. Old school. Relaxed. The ski lifts have great mountainside views. And you can see the Phoenix woodwork framework rocking back and forth while waiting in line 😧.

The place is full of information too (like horse styles - jumper, prancer, etc). It has some other really neat stuff, like barber-chair horses for children's first haircuts. Be sure to visit if you ever are in the park. It's free to go in and look. :)

I grew up at Knoebels! I don’t live too far away!!! Probably one of my most favorite places. And yes, The Haunted Mansion is my all time favorite I am now going on 31 years old and first was in there at age 5!

I agree I take the kids there couple times a year. I love old style parks like knoebels. I live by one that shut down years ago called Rocky Glen. It sucks when your memories go away I hope Knoebels never closes.....

daffers234 This Haunted Mansion is actually very old. The building was once and old skating rink turned into the Mansion. The owners of the park took odds and ends from around the park to make what’s now The Mansion. In “The attic” part where the hands pop out to scare you, there is actually an old radio the owner used when he was a young child. It now sits in The Mansion.

@@iamnikkinitro I use to love going to Rocky Glen as a kid and early teens. It shows my age but I remember them doing dime days where each ride was a dime lol. I use to love the western shootouts by the old saloon as well. Its a shame my kids never got to experience The Glen..... but they have Knoebels which is just as nice.

One additional bonus feature of Knoebel's is that they are dog friendly. You can even bring your pup on a few of the rides like the train!

Fun fact the black diamond mining company ride was located on Hunts pier in Wildwood, NJ and was a regular mine ride. It was purchased, taken apart and shipped to Knobels and put back together. I rode it many times in the 80’s at Wildwood and then last year at Knobels👍🏻

it required a lot of cleaning and restoration because it sat for 20+ years unused surrounded by a building made of Asbestos, the state of NJ required a rigorous plan to dismantle the coaster, clean it and transport it. It was one of the more major investments by Knoebels, and most likely would not have happened if Flying Turns had opened, but it was still in testing, even though it was standing for over 5 years at that point. Flying Turns delays saved Golden Nugget (Now Black Diamond) from the scrap pile.

Even better, this one was "rescued" from New Jersey. It was called the Golden Nugget. It had asbestos and no one wanted to buy it or wreck it. Knoebels paid for deconstruction, brought the track and controls to PA, and made the current ride. Very nice!

They remade that skeleton room. It used to have all little skulls flying around the big one (they reused that one). I believe they remade it in 2016 or 2017

When I go, I start with Twister! It's the ride with the name that matches the results (and any coaster fan will enjoy). Next, I do the best of two relaxing, and scenic, train rides. The first being the one that takes me under Twister. Next, I load up on the GREAT food that is all over this fine park. My best tip is to do this: eat everything you enjoy - from everywhere. Best food to be found. In short, the finest "value" park I have ever been to. Again, park free, and with no entrance fees. Counting the great food and craft shops, money will be spent. But you will likely smile a lot - for sure!

We have a pretty cool historical building in Sunbury called the Edison hotel, the first building in the country to be fully lit with electricity.... And they have a pretty good restraunt there as well

Interesting fact: Sunbury is home to a coaster manufacturer called Great Coasters International. They are the people behind Wildcat and Lightning Racers at Hershey Park and are also the people who helped Knoebels get Flying Turns open

I love that Knobel Wii a keeps around classic attractions like the Whipper. I rode this at the Calgary Heritage Park quick includes several classic attractions with the price of admission.

Yep, just make sure you have at least $1,000 when you visit. Hershey is $70 to get in and the food is overpriced as hell, plus staying at a hotel in Hershey peak season can run $150-$500 a night.

I grew up going here for family picnics every Labor Day, and it's the best. I used to go through the Haunted Mansion like 4 times in a row, best dark ride ever. Brought my 2 year old daughter on it last year and she cried because it was over and wanted to go on again. Finally going there this Sunday, also can't wait to play Fascination!

Great video. Knoebels is one of my favorite parks. The Phoenix is one of the top ten wooden roller coasters in the world. It is loved by all coaster enthusiasts for its amazing amount of airtime. You can also on certain days purchase an all you can ride wrist band. The bumper cars are one of the most intense ones in the country and I believe the carousel still has brass rings you can grab and toss at a target. Other parks with similar GoPro policies are SeaWorld and Busch Garden parks in case you want to film some of those coasters.

The bumper cars are considered some of the best. I try to ride every time I visit. The carousel has big rings to grab; most are iron, but one is really brass - if you get that one you get a free ride. They also have a history of preserving their vintage rides and they take such good care of everything. The staff are so friendly and helpful ... the food is good ... I love it there too!

Knoebels is great for that. A few will shut down (like Giant Flume, I think). But Knoebels is very accommodating for the most part.

I worked at Knoebels for 5 seasons straight, and one return season as a favor in 1999. The main attraction to the park was the family atmosphere, trees, no parking or entrance fee and the Phoenix was their only real thrill ride, until Twister came alone in 1999. Since that time Knoebels has grown to the park you see today and attracts people from all over the world based on word of mouth/reputation for the friendly staff to the great food. I last visited in 2017, to introduce my 2yr old son to Knoebels, and the plan was to take him this year now that he is tall enough for more adult rides (with a parent) but COVID changed that, so now we have to wait for a vaccine before we attempt another trip, but word on the grapevine in coaster circles is knoebels will be introducing a new coaster for 2022

My favorite park. My parents took me here tons of times growing up. Also look into the ride all day passes that let you ride on almost every ride except the haunted mansion. It's only on weekdays though. There's also the mining museums in Ashland PA. It's awesome to do during a hot day.

I love Knoebels as well. Crystal Caves is fun too, if a bit small. Never been to Ashland's mining museums. Maybe I'll check them out someday.

Go as soon as you can! If you like Halloween, go in October - they dress up the whole park. If you like water rides, go in summer and ride their Flume.

Oh my goodness, Knobels! I'm SO glad you went here, it really is great, huh? :) On your live stream it was suggested by someone and myself and I'm so happy you went! I go as much as I can and its one of my favorite amusement parks :) The other week I visited there and when I was in the haunted house I screamed "AHHH COMPRESSED AIR" and it really helped calm me down since I'm a wimp in dark rides. Hope you had a great time!
