But you would attach it vertically, so that the broad beam angle spreads light around you, not above and below you!

Correct! Although we have programmable modes via our Modemaker app, called Eye Saver modes, these disable a portion of the LED's for riders who wish to mount horizontally, so that the light does not shine upwards and in to your eyes.

I was looking for a video showing how this mounts (on the steering tube, below the stem? not a lot of spacers on MTBs...), only to see it mounted vertically... STUPID and defeats the whole purpose (especially considering you had plenty of room on that bike)! People who're looking for 180/300-degree angles, will never think to mount them vertically - 98% of the lights do that better. My 2018 Cateye Rapid X2s have 180 angles and I love them (on my aero bike - mounted vertical)... Now I'm looking for lights for a touring MTB, and figured I'd get the latest options (300Lm). I guess these could be mounted on 50mm fork legs...

i found blinking is extremely annoying for me and others. You better improve steady light modes. What about the battery's lifespan? How many recharges does it take?

All feedback is appreciated, thanks! In regards to battery life, this can depend on many different factors and so it is not something that we can easily estimate. Our lights are built to last with lithium batteries that when cycled properly will last years and years.
