I absolutely love her facial expression when she says "Oh, and don't call me cookie". Her beautiful eyes narrow ever so slightly to convey that tone of threat that the line is meant to deliver. The subtle level of scorn in her voice together with that look make it obvious that she just LOATHES him. Oh how I love that
Donna Mills is a very talented actress with considerable range, and she never got her due from the critics or the Emmys because she was on a soap opera.
John, I didn't realize that growing up because I loved the show so much. However, I just rewatched it and when it got to the seasons without her, I stopped watching. Her last season was spectacular! There was no topping that season and the show were just dull without her especially since they seemed too afraid to allow Paige, Anne, or Claudia to be as nasty as Abby.
I wish they would bring it back also but it would be a horrible remake the way Dallas was. They always try to remake the desperate housewives format where someone is narrating and telling a story and that is so annoying. Love Abby's eyes and heavy smokey eyes forever.
By FAR, one of the most intriguing, complex, sexy, entertaining, strong, resilient, captivating and intoxicating characters on television EVER!!! She may be the TOP, but I don't want to over reach considering I just watched this video and I need, at least, 20 minutes to come down from an Abby high after being exposed to her.
Donna Mills was awesome! She could put any man in Knots Landing in their place. I loved her in Play Misty for Me. I always wondered how she was able to drag Peter Hollister's body across the floor when she was trying to cover it up. He was at least 6'3, she must have been super strong!
I didn't really like Abby--until she was fighting for Olivia's life, over Olivia's drug addiction. Donna just lived that anguish as a nearly helpless mother who, nonetheless, would never surrender her daughter. She allowed her character to be filmed with no makeup and broken with the struggle. She gave Bette Davis a run for her money! That's a performance I still remember to this day.
Jill let give you some friendly advice. From the second Mrs Ewing to the soon to be the Third Mrs. Ewing, friendly warning. The First Mrs Ewing doesn't go away, ever!! i love this line so Abby lol
I also loved the episodes where Peter flirted with Olivia to get information from her. Olivia ultimately ends up with a broken heart. So Mama Abby finds out and comes to the rescue. She seduces Peter into telling Paige to, "take a hike". Then Abby tells Peter to, "take a hike". There are so many great Abby moments that it would take multiple RU-vid clips to capture them all. Please keep them coming.
Great video. Give us more please!!! I love Abby and always did. One of my favorites was from the episode, "Phoenix Rises". Abby keeps getting shat on. First by Olivia, then Gary, then Peter and then by Greg. Well, she finally has all she can take and goes off on Greg about Val's babies. Then she goes to Ruth's apartment and tricks here into telling her about Peter. The next episode she takes care of Peter too.
I reember that. That's how she cleared her head over her guilt for kidnapping the twins, that was clouded over her head for two seasons. It was in a ball or something - 6 episodes before season 7 ended.
@@EWollberg Abby wasn’t behind the kidnapping. She haphazardly mentioned something in front of an attorney of hers about wishing the babies weren’t in the picture and he took her very literally and arranged the kidnapping without her knowledge. She was mortified when she found out that he misinterpreted her comment.

Also, there were some awesome scenes during the whole, "Abby & Charles", storyline that would make a great addition here. So many great Abby scenes to choose from. Wish there were more on RU-vid. Loved when she manhandled Peter there near the end of his time on the show. She made him dump Paige and then she told him to, "take a hike".

Is that a good thing, though? Revenge? She always acted like she had a stick up her ass and that she needed to prove herself. I see more layer to this "strong" character. But overall, I agree with you.
Please post more Abby clips!! I loved her and used to tape the episodes on VHS and play her parts over and over. She was so hot too!! One of my favorite moments is when Paige goes around apologizing to people over the Peter incident. She comes to Abby's office and tells her she's so sorry that she ever got off the hook. Abby informs her in no uncertain terms that there would be hell to pay because of the trouble she put her and Olivia through. "Just don't sleep too soundly!!" Remember?

You are absolutely correct. That was the episode where she asserted herself and took complete charge of her destiny. She wasn't having Greg and Peter manipulating her anymore. LOVED that episode.
I always thought she wore too much makeup. This belief was confirmed to me while watching an episode of Larry Sanders. When producer Artie told Larry, 'The beautiful Miss Donna Mills will be on tonight's show, Larry replied, 'Has anyone told her that Kiss is going without makeup these days.'
Wow - nice job! I've been waiting for someone to post that scene between Abby and Paige where Paige thinks she is a better Abby than Abby! But, you cut it too soon, Abby then turns back and says, "You know, I would have never set myself up the way you just set yourself up." lol! Nice job though and thanks for posting! :)

Abby was a flawed heroine. A horny vixen, but she wasn't evil. She ran amok for most of the series... the only person that had any kind of sway over her was Sid, and after he died, there was nobody to reign her in.
Roland Baldwin you are right! I forgot about that. Yes Linda gray the actress was playing Amanda's mother and Melrose place had a spin off show called Model INC! But that show was cancelled after a season!
erik etzwiler That's right. It also had Emma Samms and Carrie Ann Moss and a pre Star Trek: Voyager Robert Beltran as Hilary's boyfriend. Hilary was Amanda's mother's character.

Proudbull, THAT was GREAT. However, there is one I wish you included: "The Abby Scale". I don't know if you remember that one, but it is the last episode with Donna Mills; just before Abby pulled the "Murikame" scam and left for Japan. Paige tried to tell Abby off and Abby told her what she rated her on "The Abby Scale". CLASSIC Abby! Haha!
Not for nothing, but the older I get, the more I realize why Jill Bennett was driven over the edge. A person can only take so much and they really drug her through the mud. I used to hate Jill, now I almost have sympathy for her.
