Knott's Berry Farm • 1997 Park Footage 

Oh my god this was filmed on the exact date I was born and in the exact same city holy crap, this is all mind boggling to me.

Memories. Oh man I was 12 yrs old in 97. Good old days. Beautiful Buena Park💖 lived there for 8 or 9 years. We can always hear the train from my 🏠 we lived a mile away off Stanton and poinsettia

My dad would always take me on those parachutes. Still have nightmares about them today.

Fun Fact: If you watch the movie Summer School 1987 with Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley the park the visit is Knotts. You can actually see Boomerang.

I really miss the reflecting lake. They used to have those cool water shows. I used to live 15-20 minutes from the park (depending on traffic). My favorite rides were: Montezooma's Revenge, Gran Slammer, Timber Mountain Log Ride, Sky Jump, Whirpool, Bigfoot Rapids, and Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. I use to pig out on funnel cake and boysenberry punch. Great memories! :) My mom worked in the Craft Barn and Marion & Toni's in the mid-90s. My sister worked in guest relations (from 1989-1998).

I visited Knotts in July of 1997 I was 15 ,out of all the parks in Socal it was my favorite ,I only went once though ,its weird it's so long ago ,I remember the parachute ride and looking out over the city ,the internet in alot of ways is amazing

Wow, talk about taking a ride down memory lane! The parachutes and Wind Jammer -- that ride always broke down. I even remember the Soap Box Racers before that. What's also crazy is that all the rides that were on the Boardwalk in the 90's have all been replaced with new rides that exist today. Only exception is the Sky Cabin. I also miss Perilous Plunge.

The Parachutes got taken out in 1999 and the structure came down in 2002, cause people were wondering if the ride was coming back, it might return to the Boardwalk in 2018, hopefully. It was cool how the vid should the Corkscrew in 1987, then fast forwards to Boomerang in 1997, great job. The K on the tower now has a glowing color, which CF needs to fix. My family couldn't afford a camcorder back then, so thank you for the memories.

For me the pre-Cedar Fair late 80's to 1997 was the golden age of Knotts. So many memories in this video. It also shows how many flat rides The Boardwalk/Roarin' 20s had.

six months later the park would be purchased by Cedar Fair.

I never did like those parachutes, of course, as a kid you tend to come up pretty easily, my sister used to float up on it and our friend who was a big dude would put his hand over her head so she'd stay in XD

I remember I went on Windjammer as a kid & my head bumped around on the vertical restraints - I hated the ride ever since & never rode it again. Good riddance XD

I’ve only ridden Sky Jump once my entire life. I’d love to ride it again if only Knott’s would bring it back in a few more years or so haha... I’ve ridden supreme scream a ton of times already and now I feel more excited and less scared to ride sky jump again
