This video was very informative. This is why have been doing my own hair for years. I am a retired cosmetologist and I retired because I was tired of people not wanting hair care and just wanting cute styles. It's clear people do not get locs for the correct reasons, it's deeper than that. I have noticed that people get locs and they still want their locs to look like their loose natural hair. I always thought that was just crazy. Your channel inspired me to start microlocs, the kicker because I wear a turban. I don't have a concern on how my locs looks. Before I started wearing a turban I never was one to obsess over my hair anyway, what I have done is make my loc care simple as can be. I have microlocs, I retwist every 3-4 month, I only use water, and I apply oil after it dries. When I retwist, I also don't use any clips because I am not looking for perfect locs. My locs are doing what they are supposed to do and it's stress free for me. I never liked interlocking and I always loved palm roll because I have never been obsessed with if the locs stays together or not. It's almost a spiritual journey for me. I am glad that you have a channel to help women out there with locs who need saving and a wakeup call to stop overpaying for a service that we can do ourselves. I am manifesting that women star waking up and to start learning how to do their own hair. Start using that extra money to travel or save. Let's start learning how to enjoy life and not let our hair take over. I've been living the free life for years and it's been so peaceful and enjoyable and stress free :)

Hi Tunisia, I love your channel. It seems like money is more important than the health of a customer’s hair. I saw a post on instagram where the Sisterlock Consultant posted their prices. There was one price for getting retightening “on schedule” and a higher price for retightening “past schedule”. They penalize their customers monetarily if they wait or want to let their rest. Thanks for the video and information! I have a question, hope you see this comment. i'm thinking of transitioning to knotted locs too, is the transitioning/knotting started only from the roots? or do you knot down to the ends of the loc as well?
No one is addressing those who DO NOT want to DIY! Why can't she train people to do the knotted locs..?? I just literally add a knott to my hair and it seems simple.. but I prefer for someone to do it for me
Yikes! I'm sorry about that. Melissa has been clear about her desire to cater to the DIY community whom she feels is underserved. Additionally, knotted locs is a very intimate experience with one's hair that she feels is critical to our hairs health and our overall well-being.
