My favourite book is a +800K words Portal fanfiction that I've read trough the entirety of two months while constantly talking about it with a friend, and I feel that strengthened our friendship
My current favourite book is probably "The psychology of stupidity" it's a very interesting book and as soon as I laid eyes on it I just felt a sudden urge to buy it and I have no regrets.
Fun fact: the author didn’t mean all the “deep meaning” in Fahrenheit 451 he just wrote it because television is cringe and reducing interest in books at least according to him.
That’s what happens when you have these pseudo-intellectual English teacher head asses running around trying to find meaning in things when it’s just not there.
@@gummy5862 It doesn't matter what an author intends to write, Death of the Author and all that. And given that symbolism is inherently subjective, most english teachers are perfectly justified in what they say.
@@beyondtrash1627 Yea that’s what they’ll tell you just to cover their asses when they’re wrong. Who tf do you think came up with that rule? A god damn English teacher. I’m sorry, but literature is just one more art form stuck up narcissists use to try and act like they know more than everyone else.
A word of advice from someone whose Dad interviews people, dont make the answer sound too rehearsed. It's fine to prepare for these kinds of questions, but if it sounds like you're just reading from a script or you've memorised something, it doesn't sound real to interviewers and they won't really value it because you're just saying what you think sounds good.
Tell your dad that logic only works for neurotypical people. For autistic people, literally everything is a script. And some are good at making it sound natural, others are not. But it's not fair to to penalize autistic people for it and honestly would be stupid to, because autistic people are extremely hard workers.
@@anona2017 it ain’t that deep and actually why should we change everything for a minority plus they interviewer should have been made aware of this and also basically everyone these days are being diagnosed as autistic
“My favorite book would have to be where the sidewalk ends by Shel Silverstein. I love the poetic energy and the flotation that goes throughout the book. Getting exposed to literature at a young age opened me up to new wonders and doors of opportunities in my life. Nevertheless have I been so happy to been given that book at my 4th birthday. I am even more accelerated that now I can read it. Thank you.”
I had to answer this! I said something along the lines of Harry Potter and the order of Phoenix is my favorite book because the bad guy isn't magic it's the school system and the government. It wasn't the book they wanted but as a fanfiction writer I have the power to make any book into a needlessly deep story.
Mine is probably "The Outsiders" because it really highlights how important a human life is by making you really like a good character, then have him gunned down in the middle of the street
My favourite book is either the Glass Castle or The Secret Garden. The Glass Castle is a story of perseverance and love. That if you don't try nothing will happen and to stand back up when you fall, but it also explores that success doesn't equal happiness and that love is important even when it's flawed. The Secret Garden emphasizes the importance of childhood and relationship. That imagination can bring about beautiful things and how powerful the heart is in both positive and negative ways.
Diary of a Wimpy kid could relate to unrealistic expectations or false sense of intelligence. Considering Greg views himself as the most intelligent within the whole series despite being a middle schooler with poor grades. And believes that he is destined for greatness despite all his shortcuts and over fixation on the juvenile stratum of popularity or school drama.
My favorite informational read is the conglomerate of the specific letters of a lexicon, of which is notable towards the English variant. The characters present in a set sequence on this dead tree evoke an emotion that is pleasant, this feeling is also notable towards my history of a homosapien. Said emotion has a very qualitative assurance of positivity, and of which continues my prolonged longevity of said series. The title “Green eggs and ham” itself implies much cognitive ability and is a staple of interest to all whom read.
I would go into tangent about Douglas Adams' writing style, Orwell vivid descriptions of poverty and ability to read trends which predicted the modern day and marx's effect on my view of the political landscape and economics
I both appreciate, and cannot stand these videos. They help people get into college, but are they being authentic? Are they being themselves? No. They’re following a very specific prompt. Sad that college requiters expect stuff like this instead of genuine authenticity. Nice way to prepare people for the gross “real world” though 😬
My favorite book is „Lies on Page One“ because of how exactly the author of this amazing book presents a romanic relationship very good without making it the whole plot. Throughout my life I’ve read a lot of different types of books and yet I stuck to this book in particular. Other stories Ive read either had no romance, background romance or the romance took the whole spotlight of a story that would’ve been quite interesting otherwise. So in my personal opinion I really adore how the author made the romantic relationship important to the story yet it wasn’t everything. It wasn’t one of the „main goals“ of the main character. But it also wasn’t irrelevant to the plot itself. The love grows slowly with appreciation for each other. And the relationship may not always work smoothly but the two characters always worked out in the end.
My fav book is the Tintin series because of someone who isn’t born in a English speaking country helped me to boost up my vocabulary and the as a adventurous person i can surely say this series helped me become one
Bro this is facts even for a regular interview. When asked a question always relate it back to something you already know to construct an argument. I remember being asked once about cultural domination and the economy and I related it back to a book I read in middle school and what I learnt - worked well
My favourite book is Looking For Alaska, as it takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that leaves you with a bittersweet feeling at the end. Towards the last pages of the boom, I ended up hating the world a little more and loving the people around me a little more. It showed me how fragile the human mind and body really is and how what the meaning of a smile is; a smile has virtually the same meaning and effect as that of a 'handle with care' sign, Everyone knows what they are supposed to do but only the ones close to you care enough to 'handle with care'. So yeah , a smile could help us get through hell; but when the jaw starts to hurt, and your eyes start to water, that's when the all hell breaks lose. A smile cannot make the pain disappear, it can only store it for the future in the hopes that the day it breaks, the people around us will 'handle with care'. Great now I'm crying.
Favourite book was the Alex rider series, I read them when I was very young, but once I reread them I saw just how great the books were. There was struggles of having a double life, a lot of near death situations and quick decision making. If you're a teenager I highly recommend this series if you're into action-adventure
My favourite book is "Geronimo Stilton", it is a book about a mouse who is a newspaper editor and it shows that you don't have to be a perfect to be hardworking.
Barely finished chapter 11 of The Giver by Lois Lowry, we've been reading it in ELA/Language arts class, im barely in 8th grade it's a really good book so far, I recommend that every 8th grader should read it atleast once
Agh, when you said the question, my first thought was "I really like Fahrenheit 451," then your example ended up being that book! Ngl, it shocked me a considerable amount
My favorite book is Sting because it explores how kids can outsmart adults. It was really inspiring to me during second grade when I believed that adults were the only ones who could be clever.
My favourite book is all tommorows because it explores speculative evolution with aliens, this relates to me because i would like to assimilate the entirety of humanity using mutation
My favorate book is mein kam-..... I mean't "No Longer Human By Osamu Dazai". It explore's the theme of depression and The Persona's that Humans wear. The book is a semi-biography by Osamu Dazai before commiting suicide with his mistress. Honestly a depressing book it was a open ending meaning that Oba the main character fate is unknown however it's implied that he either commited suicide since he gave away his belongings or travelled somewhere far away and gave away his things to tell his story or who knows. Anyway the way he wear's a mask of being a normal person and trying to live in a society that he doesn't understand but trys to fit in and only to fail and fall into deprived life full of drugs, prostitutes and alcohol is depressing. He even tried to commit suicide a few times before one of which caused the death of a married woman who both of them wanted to commit double suicide. He lived a terrible life howerver it paints the story of mental health before it was considered important. Back then you'd have been considered insane and no one would helped you since mental health wasn't as practiced as it is now and there was no mental health asylums back then in 1935 especially the fact that he was in japan made it even more unlikely to find someone that studys the human mind. Though Crime And Punishment has to be a good tie to No Longer Human since both books have a similar theme. Then again the main reasons i read those books was because i got bored of the tradional romance storys that i read since i read too many romance storys and since i was starting get picky with picking the book i choose. I ran out then was like "Oh yeah i forgot i have No Longer Human And Crime And Punishment in my to be readed list, eh why not?" I then read those slowly but surely. Honestly one the best decisions of my life (fahrenheit 451 sounds interesting i'm gonna put that in my reading list)
Inkheart by Cornelia Funk is my favorite book because It includes compelling characters and it was the book that introduced me to fantasy. It made the segments that were difficult for me when I was younger in life greater.
Outsiders hit different 🥲 Like I liked all the books I read at school, but the Outsiders is #1 Stay Gold Ponyboy Stay Hold🥲😭😭😭😭 and I usually don’t cry too much when reading books, but the Outsiders made me ugly cry. At night. When I’m supposed to be asleep.
Hey, can you do more shorts on your studying habits and techniques? Those were a lot more helpful as they could be applied (mostly) to any grade level, and these college essay and interview shorts only really serve to make me feel insecure about my FLE skills.
War and peace is my favorite book because it really does an amazing job covering topics such as love, trust, and forgiveness which I have always needed to work on. I have found myself to be more forgiving and honest from reading this book. War and peace is also just an amazing piece of writing in general. The incredible words of Leo Tolstoy made me grow as a person for being more careful in my decisions before acting.
