just since you are mentioning video, I've wanted to ask your opinion about something that happened at (not your usual gig unless Vet fencers are behaving badly) Vet worlds. Was very interested to see what you think about an action where video was requested for something questionable; opponent was pushed off strip, video was requested team was told "too late recording stops when light goes off" however, you'd think the jostling would've been cause for "halt" and a card. Would love to hear what you think - vet worlds day 6 part one of two time stamp is 54:38 score is 23 - 21 womens team epee Your work is always great and thoughtful. Thanks.

I mean you're right about the penalty for jostling. But the referee is also correct that if a light isn't recorded on the machine the replay doesn't create a video for it, making it impossible to use video review for it...

The contention was: video for jostling and was the touch valid. He said no review because the light went off... touch. It had appeared that the touch happened because of the jostling. At any rate, it is what it is. Appreciate you taking the time. Incidentally, they need to have you at these big events doing the narrating. I think the guys who talk about curling get more excited than the ones talking about fencing. It's as an exciting sport as any other, and we need the announcers exciting as well to get people involved in it, understand it better and appreciate the athleticism and mind game that fencing is.
