I don't think people understand just how vital keeping the native language is to the survival of our planet, especially the ceremonial language. It must not be lost.

@@roffebengt9166 only she is best to say but I think she means the language integrates the natural world with the spiritual. The Hebrew language also connects both. I don't have a PhD but I think Dine does this through creation while Hebrew does it through principles of it; metaphysics. I don't see them in opposition to the other at all. Religion does that. I'm 100% certain if we would make every effort to understand one another...the Spirit of Eternal Wisdom would manifest/emerge as in messiah. We save ourselves when we "see" the connections. Love cannot abide in error forever. The foundation was and will forever be Truth. I am not a Christian but I agree with a verse in Matthew: God is Spirit and Truth. Man chooses a path like coyote as Mr. Wally says only to realize it was wrong and turns back.
@debrapaulino918
@debrapaulino918 Год назад
@@roffebengt9166 So as the Ages go ... Age to Age you (wisdom) are the same. Wisdom like water runs it's natural course and none can forever prevent it. The dams will be destroyed by man knowing they must be OR Nature will do it herself. Even the bible in a Psalm refers to Wisdom as feminine: "Wisdom cries out in the streets. SHE ..." Google the Psalm. ❤️
@debrapaulino918
@debrapaulino918 Год назад
@@roffebengt9166 The present Age has been dominated by the masculine principle of producing keeping the feminine principle of Wisdom subjugated. Both are equal in value. It is when one is more pronounced than the other when we realize like coyote we walked the wrong Path.

Many years ago I was driving back to Michigan after visiting family in Phoenix. I like to stay off interstate highways as much as possible because it's more interesting and get a feel of the land. I was on a back road still in AZ when I came upon an old pick up off to the side with a hand made sign that said Navajo Fry Bread. I had never had any so I stopped. There was an older woman and two young girls maybe 8 or 9. As the woman was preparing the bread the girls were talking to each other in what I presume was Navajo. It was mesmerizing listening to them. It was like they were singing. I'll never forget that experience.

I just want to express my profound appreciation for this channel, and to you, Mr. Brown. Thank you for sharing your culture and yourself with the rest of the world. I teach college level history, and have done so for 10 year here in Central New Mexico. I currently teach only at Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, which is an interesting experience for a Caucasian-American like myself. There are many tribal identities represented on that campus, but a goodly percentage of the students are Navajo in origin. This channel has helped me to better understand many of my students, and a great number of the people I interact with, much better. I try to get to know my students as much as possible but always while letting them set the terms. This results in, most of the time, leaving things at a very cordial and professional level. That is fine, it's appropriate for a collegial teacher-student relationship in my experience, but it's nevertheless very nice to have some idea of what their worldview might be. So, again, my sincerest thanks for doing these videos and educating all of us.

Very unique description of the Navajo language. I’m somewhat aware of this as a sacred level of language in Hebrew or Sanskrit, and in English the profane level that lowers your vibration, and for ceremonies you want the level closest to the Source. This must be why it feels so wellness creating when I hear an Elder pray in their own language even when the words aren’t known the intent is felt. 💙

Thank you..the first words I learned in Navajo, and I learned it at a laundromat I used frequently in Flagstaff when I lived there. The Navajo girl said I have the unusual gift for a white man of speaking in my cheek, and pronouncing Ahe'hee correctly..I hope to learn more.

Thank you for sharing this knowledge. I feel in my heart that as people gain an appreciation for native wisdom and ways of doing things that the rigid system we are in will begin to change to a more balanced sustainable way.

I’m a Paiute Indian, and I speak my language, sometimes we have teepee meetings we’ve been doing since 1932, last night I had a dream that me and my uncle, he’s a road man, we were In Arizona and I was learning to speak Navajo, so I could better understand them when they sing, no today, I find myself on this RU-vid learning Navajo, Aho!!

Nahuatl is the same in that you can use a word to refer to a physical thing and also use it for a metaphysical. Most people only consider what it means physically. For example the word Xochitl means flower but it also represents perfect creation and perfect beauty, the raising of a child to fruition or full bloom, the culmination of your education where the knowledge has flowered in your understanding and has become wisdom, the twentieth Tonal/Energy in the solar time count, as well as poetry and art.
