I am 51 and doing my first tandem skydive on my birthday May 4, and I am petrified and excited. NEVER in a million yrs would I think I would be doing this. I have pretty bad anxiety but need to face my fears. I am doing mine at Skydive Arizona in Eloy. Sooo nervous but watching these vids has made me feel better.
You got this! Your tandem instructor has a TON of jumps. They know what to do to make it fun for you. Remember, you ARE facing a fear. You ARE facing some pretty anxious moments (from the brain perspective). However, safety wise, you are very safe. Likely safer than your drive to the DZ (boy, that takes the fun out). Enjoy it. Be ready for one hell of a ride. I always tell friends, if you are doing your first tandem, book two. The first you will get on the ground and not remember much. The sensory / adrenaline overload wipes out the exit and most of the freefall. The second, you mostly remember and have a much better story to tell. Either way, I hope your skydive is as fun as you can imagine. Share the story! - From a newbie skydiver with 46 jumps solo.
🎉my birthday is coming up in 3 weeks #51 🤗 And I ask my son to let’s do it.. but, 🤔he’s thinking about it.. but I have 4 (TIA) mini strokes and high blood pressure 🙁 but, I want to do it.. for Myself🥰
If your looking to do your first tandem, id recommend the video package. Its a fun experience having someone to interact with in freefall, assuming you jump with a videographer and not just a wrist cam on your tandem master.
I was 42 when I did my first tandem skydiving! I wasn't scared at all! I had a spiritual experience! I also had the opportunity to control the parachute! I fly traction kites it's really no different!
It’s definitely thrilling and like nothing else in the world!! I’m excited for you to go on your first jump!! Interested in how it’s going to alter your perception of reality
I got so air sick sitting in the back of the plane facing backwards before the jump, ruined the entire jump! The jump itself was amazing but felt so ill I couldn’t enjoy it (except the free fall, i forgot all about being sick at that point lol. Didn’t puke but felt queasy and my head was nearly spinning. I have similar problems riding in a car backwards.
I wish I had known before my first tandem jump that you can get airsick while floating down to the ground. It was a wonderful experience, but having to be mindful of my stomach to make sure I didn't barf in midair, was a bit of a distraction! I want to go again someday, but take Dramamine or some kind of medication to fix that problem.
Best overview I’ve seen by far! Was a little anxious about my dive tomorrow for my 30th bday but I think now I’m more excited. Thank you! This was very informational and I enjoyed your bubbly personality! Great job man! Appreciate the work you do!
@@SalvadorChangg Actually, yes. I’m on track to losing weight and YOU answered my #1 question; is there a weight limit. It looks incredible and I have a couple of friends that took this adventure.
I have seen free fall vids before and it's always cool. I have my first skydiving appointment tomorrow morning... And I'm watching this and my hands got sweaty 0_0
Hi man..Love your video..Im not a skydiver but becoming one is one of my dream..Hope you can make video about skydiving licence explanation and it cost..And video about when and how you started to work as a packer in Skydiving world as well..Realy interested to make a living in this field.
Nice video! The process is a little different in Aruba where I jumped! I also jumped from a Cessna 182. Thanks for the video bro! I can’t believe you bought a tandem skydive for the vid 😂 I mean I’d want to do a tandem for fun once in a while. Anyways thanks for the vid glad your having fun 🔥
@@SalvadorChangg I did man lol...but I think it was that super busy sat and you guys were slammed inside the packing hanger ...we will be down in the end march ..I gotta finish my aff
Also when I jumped for some reason I didn’t care about the height and I wasn’t nervous I literally had to beg them to go we jumped from 10,000 feet and did a backflip exit
Just be friendly and humble. That’s the best way to make new friends in my opinion. Especially with fellow skydivers it should be easy, our community is great!
@@SalvadorChangg yes. Three of us are jumping on August the 6th I was wondering if a spectator can ride up with us watch us then take the plane back to the ground. I was thinking it was called a spectator ride or something
