This bird identification video looks at Whinchat, Stonechat and Wheatear. These birds are not too difficult to separate in breeding male plumage, but a lot harder in female and juvenile. Check out our tips to help here.
As member of the BTO these ID Videos were one of the chief reason for joining to assist in my photography. I've come to rely more and more on song ID. A small request to whoever edits these videos. Could you please let us hear the bird by pausing the delightful Sue's wonderful narration, from time to time. It would assist greatly. Many thanks for all your hard work and wonderful reports
These are such helpful videos - thanks so much! :) Lots of wheatear in Sark at the moment (seven+ in the one field last Friday), presumably passing through?
