Hard Trance was born in the early 90's (probably one of the most old genres in trance) not late 90's check labels like Noom, Bonzai, Tunnel, Eye Q or names likes Commander Tom, Nuclear Hyde, Gary D., Cores, Nostrum...

Okay, I hope you know when reverse bass influenced hardstyle. It was actually also called classic (old school) hardstyle. The kick of reverse bass was introduced into hardstyle and it has been improved and made more massive until today and that was in 2006 when that was early Hardstyle was before 2006 and was initially a mixture of hard trance, hardcore and acid house. The acid house is only mentioned at the beginning

I tried making a Subground track, to me it was fun cause you can use techniques that you never used before, the kick is odd, it's either a 909 or with a sub and a agresive Bass with side chain, or a really punchy Hardstyle kick with the distorted screechy grimy sound removed, only leaving the suby sound, sometimes you can automate the eq to make the grime come through, with the synths it is very exploretiv I like to make the synths sound screechy but to also keep that Electro sound, the same goes with the crazy sounds that are unexpected, you guys should give it a try if you ran out of ideas, it also gets you used to a slower BPM, I've been stuck at 150 to 180 BPM, I never tried 135 or lower, this genre kind of broke me from that habit 😁

Hard Trance is such a good genre of music. Luca Antolini is my favourite from that. Really sad Qult ended, but it gave us the Geck-O we know and love today. I used to love that label. Tek kicks are pitched much higher and it gives a lot of energy imo. Dubstyle doesn't interest me. The only dubstyle I enjoy are the ones on E=NC² made by Pavelow. Psystyle was so awesome when it came out, but now that everyone and their mother are doing it, it has gotten stale. Reverse Bass 4 Life!

Tekstyle has to be my favourite harder genre, my friends sadly aren't really into it. But the monotone aspect of the genre really gets to me. My fav DJ's MWAK and LNY TNZ have some really good Tek tracks

Careful about the psystyle basslines. No matter how you call the music - fact is, that all the basslines you demonstrated were (straight) 16th notes and thus not triplets! Don't mix it up with, for example, early hardstyle, that was indeed based on 8th note triplets. Besides that, there is of course psytrance that uses triplet patterns in their basslines like Hilight Tribe - Free Tibet (Vini Vici Remix). Still a "like" from me for the video!

WAYYYYY earlier than that. Its was birthed in Melbourne in the late 90's. I was a regular at PHD and watched the orginal shuffle die out and be replaced by the Running Man.

would Hardwave fit in with the rest of these? maybe thats usually a genre more embraced by dubstep/bass music than hard dance but certain artists like Deadcrow, Angel Cannon and Remnant.exe are pretty blatantly inspired by hardstyle/hard trance sound design.

Mate, you either skipped or just aren't aware of the whole UK Hard House genre. Its reason the term "Hard Dance" was coined. Labels like Tidy, Nukleuz, Tripoli Trax and Kaktai.

You forgot the father of reverse bass: Mauro Picotto with "Lizard". In Italy Techno Progressive was one of the most important generes in 90's with DJs like Mario Più, Ricky le Roy, Ricky Fobis, Vortex, Gianni Parrini, Roland Brant, YOMC, Gigi D'Agostino, Mauro Picotto ecc "Early Hardstyle" is a derivation of this genere that have grown in Italy in the 00's (try to listen songs like "Cubus" of Arne and Mirko Milano or "I'm Your Dj" of Zenith). I just want to remember you that Italian Scene has been really important for the growth of Hard Dance Style and Hardstyle ;) greetings from Rome🇮🇹

@@canoaslan1011 well, we italians IN PART invented Hardstyle, but there are the dutchies and the Australians who also contributed to the rise of the genre. And Hardstyle didn't come from the so-named "Techno Progressive" (also called Progressive Trance or Italodance), it was birthed slowing down Early Hardcore then adding the reverse bass originated in Hard Trance music. Yeah, the bass in Italodance can be similar, but it's produced by making an off-beat bass, and not made through many layer of production and modulation like the Reverse Bass

Just a fyi to help, go listen to the noisecontrollers dj tool of Still speeding, which is dubstyle and his remix of let me see ya by bass modulators. Those two songs really take a new twist on dubstyle. And for hands up, the best thing i can say it to look up the classic artists like italobrothers, cascada, DJ mainian (Possibly also known and Tune Up! though not much info can be found on them nor why some songs on the Itunes store seem to have the same song listed under both names, might be an alias like breannan heart/Blademasterz)

Hardtechno does not belong to the dutch family of Harder Styles. It belongs to Techno. Maybe I'm making an another vid about it. Thank you for mentioned Hard NRG. Didn't know. Sounds like oldschool hard trance to me. Tech Dance is very similar to the oldschool Hard Trance stuff. Maybe I'm gonna make a special video about trance ;) No reverse bass is not a own "genre". It is more a style. This video is about Hard Dance music styles. Not genres only. But some DJs especially in the past played reverse bass sets only. ( I know early Hardstyle focusses on reverse bass) It's an own style of mixing. Very energetic, less melodic.

I don't think "Reverse Bass" should be included as a hard dance music style. "Reverse Bass" is simply hardstyle. Nothing more, nothing less.

@@DarkenedX08 Then Hardstyle, Hardtrance and all the other styles are Trance subgenres aswell 😉 HandsUp is so different to Trance, was a big thing in the early 2000s and has still a big influence on current successful Hardstyle artists. And of course it is still alive 😌👍 I think that HandsUp should be mentioned if you talk about Harddance history.

You said that HU is a Trance subgenre. If you say that then Hardstyle is a Trance subgenre aswell. That's what I meant 😉 HandsUp also had other influences than just Trance. Every older style influences the newer styles, that's how it is 🙂

@@ottoquattro Hands-Up evolved from eurodance and has happy hardcore influences. Hardstyle started off as 150ish BPM gabber before evolving into its own thing, while occasionally borrowing from gabber and hard trance.

That's not true, gabber didn't start until the early 90's. Chicago house, Detroit techno, Acid house etc already started in the 80's. Gabber came out of those genres.
