I only liked it from around 93 to around 98. When it lost the pianos and went more like trance on speed I lost my love for it. Gabber was always my favourite i'm glad it aged well. Still love newer sounding stuff now like uptempo kicks. A lot of the older stuff still gets played out a well, lot of producers bringing back the old style kicks.

WTF These are not usual Hardcore subgenres, which are played at festivals and events. So it isn't important enough to mention. For example Lolicore ore Pumpcore. What the hell.
@Mindprinter
@Mindprinter 6 лет назад
Pumpcore, Mashcore, Ravecore, Lolicore etc. It's very similar to happy hardcore. And if you search it on YT you only find manga pic videos with mashups and mixes. I think this is an internet phenomenon. And does not belong to the real Gabber genre, which are played at Q-Dance and B2S events etc.
@djluminous898
@djluminous898 6 лет назад
Pumpcore is the hiphop and trap merged with hardcore xD atleast used to be they fucked it up Mashcore is a form of breakcore and speedcore Lolicore is mashcore with even more anime samples cuz it needed a name Ravecore is a subgenre of breakcore designed to be more festival oriented And breakcore is far from happy hardcore, just cuz it has an anime picture doesn't make it happy hardcore, above that since when is speedcore played at festivals? Only heard it on planet of drrrrrr along with extratone and splittercore which is a party focussed on speedcore, you also missed crossbreed which is dmb and hardcore merged

XD and if you view the gabber scene as just the mainstream Defqon kind of stuff then that's kinda sad as the core scene has sprawled a lot more than just plain old angerfist and peacock

Both of you are wrong, this is obviously the stepping Stones for the far superior J-pop and K-pop. Which in recent years has out done every "-core" and "-style" in every way. It is the final, perfect form of techno.

Have you ever listened to Doomcore/ Darkcore? It has a 150-ish tempo with old-school hardcore kicks. I would say its heavily influenced by old-school hardcore and hard techno. Some tracks have simple to no melodies. Some examples: Dwaas [K.O.S] - War Dance DWAAS [ K.O.S ] - This is fucking Doomcore And here is a mix (DOOMCORE) WE are the Lynchmop 1st Half (Live Recorded@ GabberSounds-radio. 02.03.13) Awesome video and I watched the vimeo link and learned a lot! Keep up the work!

Actually a good video but there are a lot of other subgenres missing that were created with hardcore or later emerged with the influence of hardcore itself. As information I go by hardcore (techno) subgenre and not by hdm: happy hardcore, gabber, lolicore, nightcore, hardcore , splittercore, extratone,hypertone, euphoric Frenchcore, breakcore,hardstyle (nu-style,jumpstyle, euphoric hardstyle,dubstyle, big room hardstyle,subground, experimental hardstyle,tekstyle, rawstyle (rawphoric hardstyle, Xtra raw, Psystyle)),lento violento , mákina,doomcore,Breakbeat hardcore, crossbreed hardcore, hardvapour, acidcore,artcore, cybergrind, flashcore, j-core, futurecore, manyao,piep Kicks, mashcore, psycore, raggacore,hyperpop, noizecore,trancecore,kwaito,tribecore,suicidecore, supertone, melodic extratone, atmospheric speedcore, melodic speedcore, gothic hardcore these are just the hardcore (techno) subgenres in hdm or hard dance music, all hardcore (techno) subgenres are inside and other subgenres asInformation hdm is not a real genre but it is a Term and almost other genres together in brackets are the correct genres where they are really classified: hard trance (trance), hard bass (bass) reverse bass (bass), hard house (house), hard techno (techno), schranz (techno ),hard psy (trance) ,dark psy(trance) ,hard drum and bass (dnb) ,hardstep(dubstep), hard trap (trap) ,200 step (dubstep) ,hard wave (synthwave) ,hands up,

Trying to get all subgenres and sub-subgenres lol, except what's in the video and crossbreed since everyone knows. Brace yourself, elitism is coming! Doomcore (Doom HK, Succubus Helna, Starving insect, Darkside): dark and depressive, slow, no bass on kicks, 100 - 140 bpms Slowcore (Embrionyc, Hypoxic, Diffuse, Shatterling), more or less official subgenre of industrial and doomcore: beautiful, often very heavy and melodic, probably the heaviest kicks in all hardcore ever from Hypoxic and Embrionyc: 60 - 130 bpms. Breakcore (Venetian Snares, Igorrr, Clonepa, Ruby My Dear, VOODOOM): use of the amen break as main or generally only drums. Chipbreak (Tarolin, Odaxelagnia): breakcore on chiptune, Mashcore and Dancecore (Annoying Ringtone, Odaxelagnia) : breakcore and speedcore on high pitched (rave) classics, mash-up culture; often comes from Japan and Poland (yeah... really Poland^^). Flashcore and atmospheric Speedcore (La Peste, La Foudre, HFK, Neurocore): experimental futiristic sound design, actual flashcore is rather experimental noise than speedcore, closer to artists like Qebrus, Aethral Arthropod or even Aethek, Clockvice, Chee, Frequent, Audeka from the halftime-neuro-glitch-sound-design weird stuff. Dark Speedcore (Jensen/Human End, The Dark Sanctuary, Lord Lloigor): arguably a subgenre, but growing today so... symphonic and sometymes lyric speedcore about hell, death, satan or celestial infinity, influenced by black metal and ethereal wave/dark wave for those who know. Digital Hardcore and digital speedcore (Akiradeath, Ambassador 21); heritage of Atari Teenage Riot, anarcho-punk lyrics, electric guitars and hardcore, speedcore or noise influences. UK hardcore from Deathchant (Hellfish, Bryan Fury, Producer): crossbreed before TOA invented crossbreed^^ fans still use it. The japanese scene: (Roughsketch, Myosuke, Kobaryo, T+Pazolite, Moro, 6th): typical synth in mainstream hardcore, and typical sound design in speedcore and happy/uk hardcore called j-core, or some elements, it's also very separated and releases at doujin events while every producers often master 3 or more styles (happy hardcore, mainstrem hardcore and speedcore, sometimes hardstyle) to litteraly every style from house to extratone (Kobaryo and Camellia notably). Also Splittercore is almost a dead term in the actual speedcore scene.
@lars38010
@lars38010 6 лет назад
With dark Speedcore. You mean Blackened Speedcore? And with UK Hardcore. You probably mean UH Hardcore. Because UK Hardcore is very happy and soft. Btw the slowest Doomcore track is just 1 bpm. [1BPM Doomcore???] Low Entropy - Creeping Doom. I am not sure if Breakcore is a Sub-genre of Hardcore. I mean Breakbeat Hardcore is. But Breakcore is different.
@flashcore4638
@flashcore4638 6 лет назад
I saw blackened speedcore written somewhere, dark speedcore is more common and general so I use it. It's like darkcore or militarystep, no one says it's the same thing, we just have a common vague feeling that's it. UK Hardcore from DeathChant is it's own little style, different from the "happy" UK Hardcore. Creeping doom is a 1 BPM track Low Entropy made for fun, it's dark ambiant with a beat every minute, hardcore needs a rythm the ear can follow, like Doom HK - Funeral March. There are even slower tracks in industrial technoid at 60bpms like Dep Affect - Purification or Swarm Intelligence - Tanker, but it feels closer to techno for me. You can't have a rythm at least below 10 or 15 bpms, your brain stops "waiting" for the next beat, he hears ambiant sounds with occasionnal beats in.
@lars38010
@lars38010 6 лет назад
Ah ok i was like how can UK Hardcore be this dark. And i know that Creeping Doom is very slow. But the kicks are to heavy for Dark Ambient. I searched and listened to all sides of Dark Ambient. The kick is the closest to Isolatonism. Example: Lull-Dreamt About Dreaming (7 of 8) Everything else is the closest to Doom Ambient and Drone Ambient (the dark version) And they already found the slowest. Search for this video. What is the slowest music humanly possible?
@flashcore4638
@flashcore4638 6 лет назад
The question doesn't really makes sense^^ 0.000000001 BPM is humanly possible, you can record sound for 50 years straight, slow it to last millions of years and add a beat at the beginning and the end. The question is how many bpms it takes to be called a tempo. It's like how many grains of sand makes a bunch of sand (works better in french but you got it), it has no answer; you just know 1BPM is too slow and 60 BPMS is okay.
@lars38010
@lars38010 6 лет назад
If you watch that video. It tells you that about 33 BPM is the minimum for a tempo. Anything slower than that, is music about duration. And not a rhythm that you can feel.

@fivethree87
@fivethree87 5 лет назад
@@myxanoz9742 Nah, uptempo is a seperate subgenre. Uptempo got it's name by originating from sped-up mainstyle hardcore, but it gained it's own characteristics over time. Uptempo really has a little to do with terror, other than being in a similiar tempo. Uptempo is more like a mashup of raw hardstyle and non-melodic mainstyle hardcore. The name "uptempo" does sound kind of misleading tho, when I was new to hardcore I thought uptempo is literally just like "nightcore" (speed and pitch increase).
@myxanoz9742
@myxanoz9742 5 лет назад
Thanks for your explanation. Call me oldfashioned, but for me pitched up music (maybe one of the or THE "innovators" (lol): Partyraiser) doesn't make it a real genre. I know those tracks... Often they don't even contain real distorted Hardcore Techno beats, like lotsa Frenchcore or rather French "core" (like many UK stuff).
@fivethree87
@fivethree87 5 лет назад
@@myxanoz9742 I appreciate most frenchcore, but I must say I agree with your statements about uptempo and UK hardcore. Uptempo often becomes so ridiculously overdistorted that the kickdrum is no longer a kickdrum, but just noise (sadly, this is also spreading to frenchcore lately). UK "hardcore" most of the time isn't even made with distorted kicks, and feels too soft and pop-like to even title it as hardcore.
