Today On Know Your Mods... Full featured Coilovers that wont blow the bank. BC Racing BR-Series Coilovers are the go-to option for drivers who want it all. Got my set installed for about a month now and they are awesome! At the halfway point on the adjustments, it feels just a tad bit stiffer than stock on my IS250 but the handling is improved and body roll reduced.

I got someone to help me find a good balance of comfort and handling so I can't say much on the adjustments as of yet. It's my daily driver so I haven't changed the settings since the install. Thinking of doing a couple more performance mods(sway bars, chassis brace, bushings, intake) before I hit the track and maybe tweak some settings when I'm there.

I also went for BCRacing for my Scirocco. I bought the V1-VM set because i wanted the most comfortable ones. They are not under my car yet,now im driving with only lowering springs and it is stiff AF i dont like that and i hope this set will be much more comfortable. You get alot for youre money, i paid €880 for it and its really good quality. Cant wait how they feel when they are under my car.

2004 350z roadster...with 88k miles. I believe stock from factory suspension, Nissan used the Bilstein stock strut/shocks. I think its time to change out, to give my car a better stance. 275/35/19 rear tires, and front is 245/35/19...still has 1 1/2 inch gap....😎

@Modbargins, I would love to take you guys up on some input.... Own a 16 Mazda3 Hatch 2.0 and certain to get the BC BR coilovers. My only concern prior to purchase is the spring rate that comes with it. The Mazda im running and many in its generation run with a decent amount of understeer "ewww". So I've read that BR will come stock for my Mazda at 8k front and 5k rear. Would that be a good rate to avoid understeer or increase it? I'm no expert so looking for help. What I can say is that there are coilovers made by corksport "a trusted and dedicated" Mazda aftermarket company that has their coilovers at a rate of 7k front and 8k rear and I quote from them "to promote more neutral handling with less understeer" as I imagine they are experts at the Mazda platforms am curious if this is correct. And if so to order custom springs with that 7k/8k rate instead for my BC racing coilovers....... Hope to hear back soon from you guys. Thanks!

I would honeslty get a set of Coilovers that are adjustable, we can help get you a set of the BC coilovers here at ModBargains 714.582.3330 or sales@modbargains.com, once you get them on I would then just sell the Eibach springs. Otherwise the cost of a new set of shocks (which I'd probably only consider Koni's as they are valved for the Eibachs,, will still run you close to the BC coilover) Thats my advice. Will I need an alignment after installing these? I am sure with any suspension modification it is required, but just want to be sure. What about Camber and caster kits? Or is this one in all kit?

Anytime you lower or modify the factory ride height, proper camber adjustment and alignment will be necessary to insure proper tread life. Most BC Type BR coil overs for McPherson strut vehicle include from camber plates, otherwise an aftermarket camber kit will be needed to maintain proper alignment at your modified ride height.

You loosen the jam nut on the bottom and lengthen or shorten the entire coil-over. On vehicles with separate rear springs and shocks (such as many BMWs). You loosen the lower jam nut on the shock and lengthen or shorten it, while you also loosen the jam nut on the spring perch and adjust accordingly.

Adjust ability in the rear is the same as the front. By either shortening the length of the shock body or spring perch based on application. For some vehicles BC also offers an "Extreme Drop" variant which features even shorter shock bodies and springs. But these are for those looking to stance or slam the car.

yason bee hey they are great so far so good. Have to do height adjustments to get it perfect. On 05 style subies we have to remove back seat so until you get the height you want don't put it back because it might have to get adjusted if you have the camber plates for the rear which are the ones I got. Let me know if you have other questions

yason bee they also go on perfectly no issues everything has it's place for the lines as well. If you set the adjustment stiffness in the 20 clicks car ride will be stiff and just a bit bouncy. I'm currently on 20 clicks toward stiff and I'm fine with it corners nicely. I've tryed about 5 -10 clicks toward soft and it reduces the bounce a lot. I will try to make a video on it soon I just need to upgrade my recording and editing.

Kevin Du ModAuto installed these on my 335 and there's definitely a very slight camber on the rear. Really not much, but just noticeable if you're looking for it. Front end is pretty noisy, which is disappointing

I don't know if you still stay tuned to your channel, but I have a question, my coil overs are getting lose constantly and I have to tighten the bolt on top, but my problem is the stud turns as I tighten the bolt, what can I do?

Sounds like the studs have ground themselves loose in the top hats. The idea solution would be to replace the top-hat assembly with a new one (or used set that is not damaged). Any other solution could damage the coil-overs more. You could use an inpact gun at a low setting to knock the bolts snug, perhaps with some mild-locktight to prevent vibration from causing them to loosen. But then you run the risk of stripping the studs more to the point you might not be able to remove the coil-overs later (with out cutting the nut)

This is probably a silly question, but I just installed my br coilovers and was wondering, does it change the caster alignment at all?

Nope not a silly question, It just depends on the car and how it does caster. Most times it's nonadjustable and isn't affected, sometimes it's adjustable and will be affected, and sometimes camber plates will include caster adjustments as well. @@talkingmods I’ve got these set up on my fiesta ST mk7, what happened is I hit and curb and now when I turn right the steering wheel won’t return back to the centre but turning left it’s fine? Ive had the wheel alignment done and nothing is bent so I’m thinking it might be the caster?

Well made by different companies with different production (ST is by KW Germany, BC is BC from taiwan). ST is galvanized steel but it has some of the best warranty in the industry, BC BR''s is stainless and sometimes even comes with top mount.

What is the advantage of getting the swift springs? Does this give it better ride quality?

Will setting the dampening all the way hard stiffen your suspension ?

All the way stiff will effect both the rebound and compression. So while the vehicle will remain more flat in a turn (where a stiff rebound comes into play), sharp bumps and potholes will also feel more jarring (a stiff compression).

right, and since i havnt selected the swift spring option when i bought my coilovers i only have standard valves. my car is slammed so i want the full suspension as stiff as i can go with what i bought. i guess fully hardening my dampening would help get as much stiffness out of my coilovers?

How do i make it not bounce so much on highway

Hi Daniel, So a couple things will make a coilover really bounce. One if it's set to the lowest drop point (doesn't give the coilover much of a travel area) so I would suggest adjusting that. Also these are adjustable so you want to change the dampening level to softer setting (not hard) That will help make the highway ride far more comfortable. Video was very informative! However, since I had them installed I have been hearing a clunking noise from the right rear of the car. I have a 2013 Chrysler 300 SRT and I did not hear that noise when I had the stock suspension. Any advice of what be the source of noise? I've read on forums that it may be due to tightening of the lower strut bolt. Thanks in advance!
