So God is okay with our free will and free choice if it robs someone else of life? Is the unborn baby our neighbor as well deserving of equal protection as a fellow image bearer? Our Lord had to pass through the womb of a woman in order to save us. I wonder if Mary had the freedom to abort him. The Bible speaks of our will. It is one of enmity and hatred towards God apart from Christ. The sinner isn’t able to do anything pleasing to God. Our thoughts are continuously wicked. The sinner doesn’t see fit to knowledge God.

Not one time did Dr. Cosby say God is okay with our choices. On the contrary, if you listened to the whole sermon, he explains that after we use our free will and free choices for mistakes, God doesn’t stop us but rather waits patiently as only the Father can for us to come back and ASK FOR FORGIVENESS. When Cain killed Abel (you know - “someone else of life”) did God tell ADAM and EVE to take any action toward Cain? No. In fact, He clarifies the disposition of the matter in Genesis 4:15…So the Lord said to him, “Whoever kills Cain will be punished by Me seven times worse.” And the Lord put a mark on Cain so that any one who found him would not kill him. Take note of the word ME…not you…but ME (ME being God, not man). Also, take note of His “equal protection” of Cain even AFTER he killed his brother (you know, “someone else of life”). I often wonder with so many sins that man commits by the day-hour-minute-second, both knowingly and unknowingly, where there is time to focus so heavily, heartily, fervently on the sins of others in ways that only serve to push others away from the Lord. Instead of being a light in a world full of darkness, there are those as Dr. Cosby spoke of who are caught up in Titles, Traditions, and Trepidation. So, I’ll just echo one of the most profound Christian points of his sermon - HOW DARE WE BE BIGGER THAN GOD…mr. man!

@@thadandpamelahunter4895 you miss my point. There are laws that prohibits murder. Why shouldn’t we as believers fight for the rights to take away that choice of murder and add consequences? You confuse categories. Our wills are not free but enslaved to sin. Did God not punish Cain for murdering Abel? God’s commands aren’t choices. Rather you choose to obey them is your choice. He clearly stated, Man give that woman the choice. If we take this to its logical conclusion then we’re contradicting his whole sermon. Is the unborn in the womb our neighbor or not? If we go to church Sunday after Sunday and see the helpless voiceless unborn babies being murdered by the millions and the culture of death celebrating their unconstitutional right to do so…should the righteous fight for their rights or pass them by? Pushing who away from the Lord? Clearly you have very little interaction with ministries that go to the abortion mills and preach the gospel to these mothers. Calling these people to not murder the gift that God gave them is one of love. Christ calls us to repentance and sin no more. The Spirit convicts the heart of our wickedness through the preaching of the Gospel. No one is condemning these women. But you can’t tell me that it’s okay for the woman to choose to murder and we should allow that. Allow it to go on with any consequences. God is a just God and he demands justice.

No, I did not miss your point. It’s the identical counter to truth and facts that is quite often used as a talking point parroted by 30%. Moreover, I think the real question to ask is why “should” you be fighting. Not confused or confusing categories in the slightest. But, to answer your question and as I pointed out previously, yes, God did punish Cain….GOD punished him - not man. In fact, God marked him so that man would NOT kill him. I concur that God’s commands are not choices thus that’s why when we choose not to follow God’s commands, He and He alone allows us to ask for forgiveness (stated in the sermon). Without being taken out of context, what Dr. Cosby stated was… “The God we serve has given to us the opportunity to have what we call free will. So it is not good enough for us to just take rights from people and rob rights from people. We have to stand up for the rights of all humanity and let them make the choices that God allows us to make. How dare we be bigger than God. We’re no better than God. Sit yourself down Mr. Man and let Sister Girl make her choices.” The last sentence was in reference to the perverse fact that so many men in particular feel it their job to insert themselves in a very intimate matter between God and women. In no way was it meant as a co-sign to abortion but I could see how taking it out of context could cause one to think that. The subject at hand though concerns a God-given right not a right under a constitution so flawed that the end of the involuntary and murderous enslavement of black people (you know - “someone else of life”) was written into the highly revered constitution as an AFTERTHOUGHT some 75 years later…and well after 13 B.C.E. when Israelites were freed from bondage. Who is pushed away from the Lord? Those who do not know the Lord as their Savior, those young in their faith walk, and those whose faith in the Lord may have been shaken because of life’s circumstances just to name a few. That’s who gets pushed away by hypocrites and righteous hall monitors. And you are correct, I do have very little, in fact NO interaction with ONE-SIDED ministries - those ministries that use their righteousness selectively when there are many acts today that robs, you know - “someone else of life” (pro-death penalty, pro-guns, pro-wars, pro-nuclear weapons, pro-torture, anti-healthcare, anti-welfare, anti-food stamps, homelessness, poverty, etc). But what I clearly do have is a personal relationship with the Lord and I am willing to be His light and show mercy to those that do not believe as I do. I thank God for His mercy towards me and for the mercy of the present day Samaritans in society today. I am willing to lower myself so that the Lord is exalted above all, not me or my group or my “cause”. And let’s be clear, God’s plan is the only plan without condemnation for those who made the CHOICE to follow Him. Man’s plan is ripe with condemnation up to and including death. God is indeed a just God and that is why He alone will be the ultimate JUDGE of His children. HOW DARE WE BE BIGGER THAN GOD…mr. man! And finally, in the words of Dr. Cosby, now that’s all I’m going to say about that.

@@thadandpamelahunter4895 this is where we disagree and why I commented. If we both agree that God commands we should not commit murder. We have laws that punish murderers. God even have commands to put people to death for breaking certain laws. If there is overwhelming evidence that the unborn is a living human who is made in the image of God. Where do we draw the line and protect them as our neighbors? Will we leave the church see the mother or parents about to murder the baby bc of an unconstitutional law bc it deems its their choice? At some point of time there were Christian abolitionist who died and fought for the freedom of slaves. There are unjust laws that we should be fighting against. God calls us to act on behalf of justice. My criticism of Pastor Marcus is his words could influence people to think abortion and the choice to murder the baby is okay. I thought it was poor sermon illustration especially knowing what just happened. No we shouldn’t allow people to murder unborn babies. We can read plenty of biblical stories about how God hates this act of sin. Yes the wicked won’t get away and he will punish but that doesn’t negate our responsibility as believers to stand for righteousness. There are state bills that are being proposed in states like Maryland which will allow a pregnant or birthing mom to allow the baby to be murdered 28 days after birth if unwanted. That’s all in the name of abortion. We can’t sit and let that happen.
