Always appreciate when you demo the micro-details that ‘can’ produce that “Wait a Minute Vine” snafu! Often times, videos only show a perfect install & you’re left with figuring out how to “workaround” (as you put it) erupting issues/problems. GREAT Video - THX🇺🇸

Great video. One thing tho, you might want to get a brass hammer.

Pretty simple, but a bit of a hassle with the ARMaglock for us Californians. I didn't want to risk stripping the head of the screw of the ARMaglock, however, I was able to install it even though it was blocking the pin completely. Since the B.A.D. lever is easy enough to take off, might as well. And since I didn't have a vice, I used your trick with the Glock magazine, thanks for that, helped me quite a bit.

Hey OreGear I noticed you have a Noveske short through selector , how do you like it ? I bought one for my Colt but didn't notice it was made from polymer until I installed it . Looks good though just more plastic .... Really wish I read a little more lol

+Al Codie I love it! I have it on a couple lowers. As far as I’m concerned, it’s what all other short throw ambi safeties are trying to be. I’ve got several thousand rounds through rifles with that safety and never had any durability issues. I’ve also never had a screw back itself out

Its funny how these have became must have upgrades when they were created as fixes for high round count lowers or loose drop trigger assembles. I see so many guys buying brand new PSA AR's using mil spec triggers and they install these. That is just throwing away 30 bucks they could have spent on a upgrade that would actually improve the rifle. Maybe they just think they look cool? IDK. If your pin walks a couple mils that is normal. It will not come out that is why they have the divots in the pins.
@n8er_tater
@n8er_tater 5 лет назад
They're for full auto and suppressed rifles. The high reciprocation/pressure produced in those situations causes pins to walk out. Either way, what's wrong with putting it on your rifle anyway? It really looks good on an AR-15. Does every little tactical gadget on your rifle really have to be used for the intended purpose? How often have casual gun owners had to use a forward assist? Calm down, Inspector Killjoy. Let people enjoy things. The AR platform is the Barbie doll for men; let us have fun.

Should use brass punches and mallets. That way you don’t take any chances of peening the shafts.

These fancy pins are nothing but a cosmetic upgrade. Here's your proof... The whole AR15 platform is held together by pins that are held in place by detents under pressure. The only way hammer and trigger pins would EVER fall out, is if you removed them and didn't install them correctly or if you installed the wrong size pins. If pins falling out was a problem, it would have been remedied decades ago like the rest of the other changes that were made to reduce faults. They chromed the chamber and bore to reduce failed extraction. They added a brass deflector to stop brass from hitting lefty shooters in the face. They added a forward assist to clear a short stroke feed ect ect. If ARs were prone to walking pins, that would be a huge liability issue. Ineffective pins could be a very dangerous situation, with countless massive legal repercussions. It's like Ford selling a car that's known to have the wheels fall off once in awhile but they choose to sell them regardless. Your AR15 does not need these pins. Only people who use them are people who own a Instagram AR that they treat like it's entering a beauty pageant with stupid ass colors and painted rollmarks.

How u like that ACT trigger? Worth $70.
@OreGear
@OreGear 8 лет назад
+RageQuit003 For a trigger that came from the factory, I love it. If I were starting from scratch, I'd probably wait for a Geissele sale and spend a little more money for one of those. That said, if you want to keep a mil spec style trigger, the ACT is very nice!
@RageQuit003
@RageQuit003 8 лет назад
+OreGear The only Geissele I've run is the Super SCAR. However that was an insane difference...especially on rapid fire. I've seen a few youtubes run this ACT including Hoss and it looks pretty close speed wise. I run that ALG AKT in my M10 AK but can barely tell the difference between that and the modded G2's I make. So I was wondering if I should try an ACT or just polish up what I got.
@OreGear
@OreGear 8 лет назад
I've only used the SSA and SSA-E triggers, both of which are amazing! The ACT can be run very quickly, but it retains the weight and reliability of a mil spec. Most mil specs in my experience are very inconsistent as far as feel and weight, whereas the ACT is exactly the same every single time. Not the lightest, but still very crisp.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the purpose of these again???
@OreGear
@OreGear 8 лет назад
+Joe11Blue The prevent your trigger and hammer pins from walking out while firing. Many rifles have an issue with the pins drifting under recoil. These prevent that from happening. Thanks for watching!
@patmurphy3410
@patmurphy3410 8 лет назад
The pins also will not rotate in the receiver like the stock ones do. I had a Colt receiver hammer pin hole get excessively worn by the movement . I like to punch the J spring out of the hammer when doing this mod. The J spring becomes unnecessary and the hammer moves more freely without it.
@Joe11Blue
@Joe11Blue 8 лет назад
Pat Murphy What about with drop in trigger groups? I have not had this issue with mine.
@patmurphy3410
@patmurphy3410 8 лет назад
+Joe11Blue drop in trigger groups are different animals. I assume you are talking about the CMC or Timney type units. They have their own pivot pins in the housing and the pins that go through the receiver simply hold the housing in place. I fixed my Colt by dropping in a CMC trigger with the oversize pins that came with it. It's great!

So your pins don't come loose with excessive shooting. Some triggers don't use the same springs as others and the pins will "walk out" when shooting or with movement.
