it looks more comfortable to hold, too bad its a 2ds and doesnt have 3d tho edit: i held one a week ago and its honestly more comfortable to hold than my new 3ds xl
My first handheld was actually that sega genesis portable game player, you probably saw it at least once at Walmart or Toys R. Us. 2DS was my first “real” handheld though I enjoyed it :)
People who say the Wii U gamepad controller was bulky were either playing with two left hands or with their feet. It was such an improvement to the Wii. You could still play with Wii motes, and it even had it's own Wii menu. Plus, if anyone was watching the TV, you could still play anything on the gamepad screen. Also, although the first 2DS seemed redundant, I think it was still pretty comfortable.
@@chaosspider5765Owner of the Mario Kart 8 WiiU pack here! Mine didn't came with a Wiimote. It came with stands for the console itself to stand like the Wii

Maybe because it wasn't built in like the PS2 and Xbox was, this version only sold in Japan (though a modified version made to where it could play American Discs was sold on import shops), Less than 100,000 sold in sales, and according to Nintendo Fandom, it was way cheaper at the time to buy a DVD Player and a GameCube separately then to buy the Panasonic Q.
Virtual Boy was just so bad that it actually went to up space to never be seen again on Earth. That thing was basically a pair of goggles on a stand that displays black and red backgrounds.
I can obviously see the 2ds being not approved specifically because of its lack of folding, and I’m glad you accepted the new 2ds xl since now it’s basically a 3ds without the 3d, which is good for people who’s eyes hurt when looking at the 3d and not using it will be a waste of money.
I understand the 2DS, but the Switch Lite is just for people who cannot afford a regular switch. The only games that the Lite cannot play are games like Super Mario Party which is not a problem because of Mario Party Superstar which is simply a better game and games like 1 2 Switch and Nintendo Labo so you have nothing to miss
@@ProjectionProjects2.7182 I'm not saying everyone hates the shape. but a large portion of people did not like the shape of the 2ds. The 2DS XL used the same shape as the regular 3DS XL and that was a perfect cheaper version of the 3DS XL. The normal 2ds tried to be unique but it just didn't work
@@joopvanhedel1372 Yeah its okay if you don't like it, I was not trying to discredit your opinion or anything. Its all subjective at the end of the day. Sorry if I came off the wrong way.
@@Everett-s4j The only difference is that from the name of the 2DS console you can already get an idea of what they are selling you, unlike the Switch Lite that says "Switch" when it doesn't even have that that possibility.
Alot of people dog on the 2ds for being "Ugly" and alot of other things, but the 2ds was one hell of a deal. For 120 bucks in 2014, you could purchase yourself a 2ds (which usually comes with a pack in title) and a 40 dollar game. OR 2 nintendo selects games (if they were around at the time). In addition the 2ds feels great to hold, and is prone to less ways of breaking given the lack of a hinge. Its only flaws were that you couldnt play any game in 3d, and it was less compact (it also couldnt play any of the 5 new 3ds games but you're not missing out on much) Overall 9/10 console i would recommend picking it up in 2024 ESPECIALLY for the massive modding space
Wii and GameCube will always be legendary but I think Nintendo went in the right direction with the switch overall (except the stupid online service stuff of course). Wii U definitely deserved better though, it was my first Nintendo console :)
My man you take back that 2DS ruling. EDIT: Funny how the Switch gets multiple stamps and the 2DS gets shat on. Switch is ok, but the vast majority of its games are shovelware slop.
The original 2DS, is more comfortable than both the new 2DS and 3DS. It may look ugly and the least portable out of the DS line, but it’s still comfortable to hold.
The Wii U gamepad isn’t heavy at all. Also, it’s really not bulky. Like, yeah, it’s big. But *bulky* implies that it’s hard to hold. Which it isn’t. Wii U gang for life.
The Virtual Boy's biggest issue was the monochromatic red palette, which a lot of people don't like looking at for too long. Maybe I personally wouldn't mind if I ever get the console, but it's nice emulators let you change the color. In fact, the console wasn't that bad in terms of technical strengths thanks to having scaling and rotating effects, as well as having 32-bit capabilities and a nice wavetable sound system. Besides, the reason I emulate the VB is for arguably the best game in the console's library, Virtual Boy Wario Land.
The 2ds is so underated like i get its really bulky but its not even that big its kinda small and plus it can hold 3ds and ds games alongside it being really comfortable to hold
