This shoe was definitely ahead of it's time. Crazy that this was comfier than a good amount of Adidas hoop shoe models throughout the 2000s pre Bounce/Boost in the 2010s.
That “face logo” is the Adidas “Feet you wear” logo. It was apart of the Adidas Equipment system that they utilized throughout the mid 90s to the early 00s. These and the Adidas Real Deal are among my all time favorites for performance basketball sneakers. Good review and thanks for the content.
I remember when I was a kid during the 90s that these shoes are awesome! Along with the air max, penny, jordan 11s. Wooooh! I'd buy a pair this year since it's nostalgic for me.
I had a lot of ankle injuries while playing basket back then until I bought my first adidas top ten 2000. ‘Feet you wear’ is not just a logo but indeed a technology. Since then I haven’t have injury and I am still playing recreational; in them of course - my 3rd pair. I am usually quite critical person but I must acknowledged these shoes.
If this shoe was made in this era, it would still stand out against its competitors. In my opinion, it's still a better-looking shoe than most of the shoes of this generation.
This is really one of the iconic adidas shoe in Kobe Line. Seems like this cant be a guard shoe. Inputs given on this shoe is higly appreciate Tommy. Best Wishes to your channel this really helps us decide which hoop shoe to buy amateur or professional wise 😊🙏
Let's not forget Jermaine wore those as well and Tracy McGrady wore those during the summer of 96 when he wore the jersey #175 at the Adidas ABCD camp where he made his name there.
These were ahead of their time because they were the first to have some sort of outsole curvature. The kyrie 2 is the one popularized it but these had it way before then. If you look at the campaign for these you'll see that adidas was aiming for that when these came out
FEET YOU WEAR - The outsole shape/technology was also used in their running and cross-training line in addition to the KB1 and KB2. Good memories of getting them on sale (in addition to an employee discount) for my kid brother when I worked at Sports Authority.
The price is actually lower than thought when I first saw this shoe. And just from the looks, it also looks like it has good performance with the traction pattern. I’m a big Kobe fan but I have to say that I don’t really like the look of these shoes😅. They look pretty chunky and heavy but I prefer more lightweight and breathable shoes. Good video tho 🔥
That's the "feet you wear" logo when adidas had shoes with that pattern on the bottom of the shoes for basketball back in the day, making it seem like the shoes are like feet. I think my buddy had these in 97, gr 11 basketball team. Lol
The face logo is for the adidss feet you wear system which is meant to mimic the human foot on the midsole and places targeted traction pods or sections where most contact is made during play
@@TommyLiu4 jw, I have the color black with red stitching and adidas. Cant find any info on them. Are they're rare color scheme or limited? Got these back in 2008
These I bought from Footlocker. From what I heard the release is kinda all over the place around different regions. So it depends on where you are, I might not be able to provide much help sorry 😔
when retroed years back I thought the cushion was severely minimal like a minimalist shoe could feel everything under your foot almost no cushion for impact protection just enough to protect feet from scrapes if went barefoot would have
Yeah that’s true, would have been interesting if they used like a Bounce or even Boost on the newest release. I thought they were okay though, designed to feel just like you’re playing on your bare feet but it’s not like a super stiff landing either.
